I am thinking of having some 16x6 wheels made up for my Z, a 72 240. It's completely stock now, down to the hubcaps, and the tires are severely limiting with their tall sidewalls. I'm thinking of going to a 216/50/16 tire all the way around, but want to be sure they don't rub anywhere. Can I get your thoughts? What are your experiences? Devin

need heater box information
ok, here's the current situation: I spent about an hour working on it the other day and was able to remove the fan motor and the one bolt on top of the fan motor box. There are two bolts inside that are being stubborn about coming out. At this time I have not been able to remove the glove box, since there is no room to move it out from behind and I don't want to damage it in an attempt to get it out through the door opening. All of this in an attempt to get to the cable end on the outside of the heater box and check the condition of the cable. Before I was able to move the lever on the dash panel, which felt like it had some resistance, but the vent in the center of the dash was always blowing in cold air. I have moved the flap with my hand through the fan motor box, and it had quite a bit of resistance. I think it was stuck in the open position for a long time. With all that said, is there an easier way to skin this cat? Thanks, Devin aka72240Z email: 64bowtie@quik.com

need heater box information
i have a problem with my car, as the vent flap in my heater box has become stuck in the open position, letting in the cool outside air all the time. I'm part way into it, having removed the heater fan motor, and have run into difficulty getting any further. What I really need to access is the area where the cable end is. My body and chassis manual does not have any information regarding this area, so I'm looking to purchase a book with good information, or talk with somebody who knows their way around these things. Thanks, Devin aka 72240Z email: 64bowtie@quik.com

wheels
you shouldn't have a problem fitting 17" wheels, but the width would be the main consideration. I still have the stock wheels and tire size on my '72, which is about 24" tall, on a 14" wheel. finding a tire with the right low profile shouldn't be a problem as most of those are rubber bands anyway. By the way, I saw some 8 spoke 16" wheels advertised a while back, but can't remember the manufacturer. Can anybody help direct me? Devin aka 72240Z email:64bowtie@quik.com

Unleaded Z Options
Ok guys, I don't want to state the obvious here, but these cars have aluminum heads. They came with stellite seats from the factory, which will run just fine on unleaded, but the lack of octane is the problem. I work on Nissans for a living, and rarely see a Z come in with valvetrain problems. Aside from that, my 72 has 267,000 miles on it and just had the first valve job in Jan of this year. The only thing I've done is recurve the distributor for running 91 octane, which is the best I can get locally. Devin aka 72240Z

My 240Z
My parents bought this car new in May, 1972. It has been lovingly maintained ever since. I finally got it this last Febuary. It has been a daily driver all its life until now. These days I pull it out a couple of times a week just to enjoy. It is not all original, as varoius things have worn out over the years, but everything has been replaced with original Nissan parts. It has 267,000 miles on it and had its first valve job in Jan at 266,000.

Need more pieces
Thanks for the help. Can anybody supply me with information as to how to get ahold of these sources? I got the web address for zbarn, the others would be helpful too. Thanks, Devin

Need more pieces
I've found that I'm missing the fan shroud and splash shield under the radiator. I would also like to find some new 240Z and Datsun emblems for the rear hatch and a new hood emblem. Is any of this available through reproduction? Can somebody point me towards some sources? thanks, Devin

NOS heater Blower Motor
I have an NOS heater blower fan motor that isn't doing me any good. Dad bought it years ago when he thought the one in the car quit, turned out to be full of leaves for some reason. Anyway, I'll take $50 for it plus shipping. Devin

Need a few small pieces
Does anybody have a Hollander interchange manual that will tell us about the wiper motor, specifically as to whether a 280Z wiper motor will work in a 240?

Need a few small pieces
I am looking for a heater control knob, set screw type, for my 2/72 240. I also need a known good wiper motor. Mine works, but only on slow and slower. I need these items at reasonable prices, too. Thanks, Devin
