  1. Thanks abas for that, now I know for sure which bushing is the one I want to use... problem is now I don't know how its supposed to fit. The bushings inner hole is to big to go on the control arm (to much play when fitted on). Does anyone know if there is supposed to be a metal sleeve on the inside of that bushing? The Energy suspension kit's sleeves that are detailed in the image provided are way to small to fit over the little posts where the bushings go on, let alone fit on the inside of the bushing. Just for clarification this is not on the spindle (tire side), this is towards the differential. Maybe my parts were mislabeled and I don't have the right stuff? Did anyone have problems with this? In the supplied diagram there are two different bushings and two different sleeves to complete the rear control arm toward the diff. Why is there two sleeves (part number 4 in the diagram)??? How is that supposed to work together?
  2. I have been slowly working on my rear suspension and I'm almost ready to bolt it all back together... but I've come across a strange realization... I don't know which bushing to use on my rear control arm to bolt it below the differential. I unfortunately don't have any of the master parts lists in my energy suspension kit for my 260z, however i'm working on it (contacted them for a copy of the master lists). I only post because I've gone through every bushing in my kit sizing it to the bottom of that "A" frame control arm and none fit snug. They mostly are too small, with the exception of two bushings that appear to be too loose on the area where those bushings slide onto the control arm. Does anyone know which bushings (part number) should be used? Also if I have the right bushing then that means something is horribly wrong with my control arm... is there an outer sleeve that goes on the that side??? I know the top of the "A" frame control had an inner sleeve that I replaced (thank you machine shop), so does the bottom of the "A" have an outer sleeve? Thats the only thing I can imagine to make the bushings that are "too big" fit.
  3. Thanks guys for your input, i'll check the date and see if i can fit a more or less straight across anti-sway bar.
  4. So if I check the date and it is an early 260z as I believe, then I should get the 240z set? Is that what your suggesting Bambi? If a straight bar does not fit which set are you suggesting works beandip?
  5. I was scouring the net for good deals on Suspension Techniques anti-roll bars but became a little confused... Most sites will list front and rear bars for the 240z from 70-73 Parts# 50095, 51075 (respectively) They will also list for the 260z 8/74 and up Parts# 50100, 51080 If I have an early 260z, which do I go with??? I'll be inquiring with the vendors but was hoping someone here had some experience themselves with which ones to purchase. Little help?
  6. I'm revamping my suspension and will be springing for some Tokico Illumina's. I've read elsewhere in the forums that Illuminas and ST springs make a good combination for handling. I was wondering if going with Tokico springs (Like the ones sold at motorsport auto) would work better? I don't know much about suspension but I was making the association in my mind that maybe since the Illumina's are made by Tokico, their springs may be a better match. I've got an early model 260z and will be using it mostly for SCCA and weekend driving. What do you guys think?
  7. Right on kinfish, thanks. I'll get to work on it!
  8. I'm installing an energy suspension kit on my rear control arms on the a-frame. The arm connects to the base of the shock by means of a spindle. I have the bushings fitted to the control arm, but noticed that the bushings appear to be to thick. I've read other articles for other kits that sounds like maybe I should sand down the bushings a bit so it will mount up with the rear wheel assembly. Does anyone know if this is safe or had to do this to their energy suspension kit??? Again this is the bushing between the less wider part of the control arm and the wheel assembly. They are polyurethene bushings. Any help would be appreciated!

Hi I read the couple of articles here at 240z.org about rear control arm bushing replacement, but I've recently taken my two rear control arms for my 240z to the machinist and hes going to operate tomorrow. I bought an aftermarket Energy Suspension bushing kit. The bushing kit has an inner sleeve but no inner sleeve in the kit. Its roughly the exact size for the control arm if I remove the outer sleeve that is still stuck in there. Problem is I've taken a hack saw to part of the inner sleeve on one of the control arms. I didn't get to finish the job and the machinist said he could repair it. The machinist is going to clean out the sleeves leave all the outer sleeves in and press in the bushings. But it sounded contrary to what I read... The Energy Suspension bushing instructions (they were generic instructions not particularly specific to my kit) said that if it didn't include any sleeves, I should reuse the old ones... little help?

Hi I've been searching through the forum posts looking for information on replacing my radiator. I noticed that Griffrin radiators seemed highly recommended along with the MSA 4 row radiator. Which Griffrin radiator fits in a 260z? Which between the two would offer better performance? I'll probably be using the car mostly for just cruising with the occaisional racing (I want to do SCCA and maybe some drag racing).
  11. Thanks for the feedback guys, I'm glad I won't have to go looking for a new tank. I didn't get a chance to put your advice into practice today but I'll check on it and see what I can come up with.
  12. Using the old gas tank unfotunetly isn't an option
  13. I was going to go shopping fuel line hosing today when I noticed that I was probably in trouble... I swapped out my 260z fuel tank for a fuel tank from a 240z (was that bad?). The first thing I noticed today was that the 260z has two equal sized fuel lines running from the front of the tank towards the engine. The 240z seems to have two different sized fuel lines running (as far as I can tell from the 240z's gas tank). I checked whatever reference manuals I had but they all located the fuel lines on a different place on the gas tank, lower and more center, and they seemed to show that they were of equal size. Should I just use an adapter to connect the smaller fuel line to my 260z's fuel system (since the 260z gas tank had two equal size, one of the 240z gas tank has a smaller line running out of it) or do I have to look for another gas tank? Sorry if this is unclear.
  14. I've stripped the rear control arms and strut assembly from a 240z and they look like they'll work on my 260z (The early model). I'm pretty sure the bushings need to be replaced, so for the rear sway bar I need 240z bushings right even though I'm still using my 260z's sway bar? These are the bushings on the bolt connecting the rear sway bar to the rear control arms. I've checked around is Energy Suspension brand bushings good? Or should I just order the polyurethane from MSA? Any suggestions?

Hey Victor Laury, very nice air dam. Is that the one from Motor Sport Auto? If so which model number is it? I was looking around for a nice one but it's hard for me to judge how things look in MSA's catalog.
