I'll do this one up instead of the one I'm driving, at least now I can work on it, with out worrying about getting the job finished so I drive it to work. Once we get prices for the Flares and such, I'll be bolting these on, and eventually move all my stuff over onto it. And my brother said I can use his shed to leave it in, to work on.. to start with, the body needs a bit of work, then I'll fit my turbo, and make the exhaust, move my mega squirt and EDIS over onto it, swap all my shocks and mags, I'll use this for week end driving, and my other one for a daily driving But I will still keep my eyes out for a 2 door, but I'm not holding my breath Nigel

Hi, I though I would share. I got this last night, been chasing it for a while, it's the only other 240K I know off in the area, and since I have given up hope on getting a 2 door, this with have to do. A little history, a 80+ year old lady had it since new (she had her license taken of her), She said the speedo has only been clocked over once, so thats 150k on the speedo, it's been in a garage all it's life, It drive very nicely, steering still tight (no slop in the steering box or linkages), the 5 speed manual has no nosies, brakes are better than my other 240K, 1 crack in the dash, where the speaker is, original radio, no cassette player. It's a 3/77 model, it has some differences to my 7/77, it has a automatic choke, it has a larger harmonic balancer, it doesn't have a 'clutch' fan Nigel

Though I would update this a bit, as you may be aware, I've installed Megasquirt now, but still using most of the original wiring I did, to make the MR30 EFI work in my 240K. Now I'm progressing on to setting up EDIS, so MS can control spark and once that's done, it's Turbo time.. more here http://noddle.110mb.com/ Nigel

EDIS on my 240K
I'm looking for a 2 door in Tassie, but that doesn't look like it will happen, but some of the picture of four doors with flares look good, so most likely will fit flares to my 4 door. I was waiting for some progress on the flares from this thread http://classiczcars.com/forums/showthread.php?t=32006 but it looks like it went cold.. Nigel

EDIS on my 240K
Hi, I'm pretty much finished with my Megasquirt II setup, it's all up and running, and I'm happy where the tune is for now, But once I fit my EDIS, I'll need to set-up the timing side off it, and over Christmas, I'll fit my turbo. if you want a copy of my .msq file, here's a link. http://forums.hybridz.org/showpost.php?p=959765&postcount=37 Nigel

When I was a kid (12 -14 ish) my brother and I use to make it, not sure if it the same thing, but it would weld metal together (I was told it was used to join train line tacks together), and very easy to make, aluminium powder and rust powder, and something very hot to light it (oxy) Nigel

Yes, a ebay welder ($365 + freight), I wanted something that I could use with gas / gasles wire, and had some control over amperage / wire feed, most of the cheap ones were hi / lo and that was it. as i have said before, I enjoy working on my car, and I like to be able to say, I did it my self.. Nigel

Throttle body upgrade
After doing some research on http://forums.hybridz.org/ it appears that a 1 inch spacer is used with this mod, to allow the use of the original linkages, and the spacer also covers the "egg" shape hole in the intake manifold. After I get my Megasquirt running, I'll look at fitting my 60mm KA24e throttle body. Nigel

Sorry didn't realise you had a JDM 240K is this correct, 240K in Japan ?, I would have though they would be called something else since they would have a L6 2.0 litre motor. or am I wrong. Nigel
