go with the RB for sure. But instead of the 26DETT, go for the RB25DET It already has the RWD gearbox, costs ALOT less, much easier to install. And the money you save on getting it can be spent on mods to make it faster than the 26 would be stock.
yeah i should fill in my profile more, I am from the Sunshine Coast up in QLD. I am in the process of building up my 260Z, and the brakes could do with an upgrade at some point. cheers for all the info and pics.
THANK YOU SOOO MUCH!!! I will most likely be doing the rear disc convertion using R31 gear now, very VERY helpful, and I will give credit to you on the mounts. Have you done anything with the fronts at all?
I drove my 260Z for 8 days straight, average 8 hours a day, all with a WORN uni joint, worn out old points ignition, a dying fuel pump and a really rich tune. Just as I got back to my home town it dropped the driveshaft with a lovely bang. Now i have a brand new driveshaft + uni joints, new tie rod ends, new fuel pump, slightly better tune and electronic ignition, soo much better now. But that said, i was glad I took my Z.
