'76 280 Starting-Needs ECU
Welp...After useing the Factory Manual and the EFI "Bible"...It appears that I have blown part of the ECU (electronic control unit). In my neck of the woods, I can't find any junk yard Z's to get one. Does any body out there have a spare or know where I can possibly order one from??? Thanks for all of your help prior... Chris

'76 280 Still not starting???
So I've done all the testing I can by useing the service manual and the EFI "Bible" and have determined that I have blown the EGU (electric control unit) Have been unable to find any junk yard Z's in my neck of the woods. I'm assuming that that would work if I could find one. I can only imagine what the dealer would ask...Does any body out there have an extra??? Thanks for bearing with me on this post... Chris

'76 280 Still not starting???
About to pull what little hair I have out! Thinking I was having alternator trouble I pulled the positive battery cable off and she died...and...has not started since??? I have spark at the plugs and fuel into the cold start valve so I'm assuming fuel to the injectors also. After sitting for a bit, she will "fire" for about 2-3 seconds then nothing. Any help or Ideas on what to do next will be greatly appreciated... Chris

'76 280 won't start
Thanks for the replies... It is the L28 fuel injected. I'm assuming that EFI means that. Pardon my ignorance but what does ECCU stand for??? Thanks, Chris'sZ

'76 280 won't start
Have had some charging problems. On a fully charged battery and engine running I disconnected the positive cable to test alternator and she died immediantly. I have been unable to start her since. The starter turns the engine over just fine and I'm getting fuel past the fuel filter. Today when I tried her again she would start and run for just a few seconds, then dead again...??? Any thoughts or ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Chris'sZ

Electrical trouble
Thinking I'm haveing alternator trouble I disconnected the pos. battery cable and she died. Have not been able to get her started since. Battery is fully charged and starter turns over just fine. Just seems like there is no fire??? Fuseable links seem fine. Can a coil go out that quickly or am I over looking something else??? Help me if you can. Thanks, Chris
