Better happening now than at last minutes. plus keeping busy keeps the teams minds from wondering too much. so probably is not too bad.

  14. Greg good luck at the Runoffs. Just got home from Daytona today, great time considering. Found the tire wall on turn 7 overtaking a car on cold tires {don't this again} not bad at all kept on going, turned a 26.3 on Sat. then on Sunday blew the old clutch second lap of the morning race was confident was going to able to get a 25 or high 24. the suspension is definute giving me more confidence. See you guys at Daytona in May GOOD LUCK

Thats the same advise I was given many years ago when all I was thinking is let me at them. But now a little older maybe wiser I understant it better. make sure your first time out is not a negative then you will have a hard time about going back. Take your time your instructor will know when you can go faster. With your cycling background you are probably fit physically. To get to the track on a track day which from what I understand there is no competition, just wave-by passing? your mind need to be fit to make smart moves. You will have a great time then get addicted like the rest of us and want more. Have a great time let us know how it was.

TomoHawk the # 1 thing that every racer strives for when they go racing is to have a GOOD TIME, ENJOY YOUR TIME AT THE TRACK. keep it simple and just have a good time at it. If you start thinking too much putting to many equations comparing this and that and setting your goals high to start out you may overdo yourself or the car and that could be bad. If you are going out on track for the first time don't try to to beat Mario Andretti's lap time. Start slow work your way up to speed get used to the corners, braking, mirrors and listen to your instructor of the track ask alot of question and take suggestion go to a certain corner you may be having problems with and see how other drivers take it. mainly have a great time so that the next track day is not soon enough.

Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid was one of my favorites. He was a definute hero up there with Jonh Wayne and Steve McQueen. It will be a sad day. Best wishes to the family.
  21. Hi Paul! Yes I did meet Ron First when he blew by without sayng hi or bye, We talked for a bit in the garage nice guy Turned me on to the IT forum, Registed on last night. It was Quite a race kind of glad was behind with the civics, miatas and IT7 cars. We were having our own fun, there was never a corner by myself either chasing or been chased I would past them in the straights then they were all over both sides into the turns luckly nobody lost it. Sat morning There was a black car locked it up going into the chicane still up pretty high in the turn I was coming behind tapped the brakes a bit too hard flat spotted r/f Hoosier R3 had alot of meat left felt real bad but did get around the car safely, a friend gave me a used set of Kuhmos 710 same size was not to sure but they worked great {would only get half the prize money if I won} HaHa. But yeah the 350/275 worked good for me just a hint of the back wanting to loosen and This was the must comfortable I ever felt I don't think I could get away with the 225/275 set up.My rear bar just went and measured 22.5 mm on the rear and 29 mm in frt they are suspension technique I got back in 89 the rear bar comes from the rear to the frt connects with heim joints and has a 3 point adjustment set on the most loose could probably go smaller. maybe with a 400/350 might be ok. I probably have one more weekend on these frt pads. there is another race at the end of Sept back at Daytona I would like to but most likely not. Need to start thinking about Christmas coming up. But most definute the ECR in May. Maybe will try new brake set-up for then. Pablo
  22. Well, survived Daytona! Felt great racing again. Ran with 350/275 set-up was very comfortable pushing the car the car thru the corner accelerating quicker out of the corner. bearly a hint of the back loosening. Tire are old I think I will stick with the heavy spring up frt for now. Also on the other thread about brake pads the Porterfield R-4 behaved well. The price is right so I'll be getting another set when needed still about half way two race weekends and a school rotors still look new verey dusty. Looking forward to the next race. Good luck at Barber

Hi Chino! They warned about the bedding was very important. They are very dusty after a weekend at Sebring the rotors had very minor groves compared to what the DS-11 would do. They are in the car now still thick a couple more races left in them. Going to Daytona next weekend will see how they work there?

Hi John! You mention you deal with Poterfield Have or know of someone using the R-4 compound poterfield useson their pads. Just getting back to the track after many years off I used to get DS-11 from him I just got the R-4 FRt/REAR shoes I'm not to sure about them The DS-11 I felt a solid pedal had confidence with this Im stoping good the pedal is solid butjust don't feel the initial grab? Looks to be rotor freindly.
