Hey guys, I listed my parts lot on e-bay and it goes off this Sunday. I need to remove the building where these parts live and I don't have the need to keep them. Car Trailer
Hi again TexasZ, I replied directly to you on the parts question, and here's something for the trailer post. I know of such a trailer in Austin; metal-deck, 18', slide out ramps, excellent shape, 1 or 2 years old (I think). I'll be visiting with a guy on it this Saturday. He's buying my 20' enclosed trailer. What's your budget?

Not exactly Z stuff, but really cool!
Hi guys, I just wanted to let you know about a really cool website (shameless plug:o ) that sells vintage racing posters. I know this in not the Vintage Racing Forum, but I'm a Z guy and I play here too...... Take a look www.classic-racing.com If you want to purchase anything from the site, I will extend a $10 gift certificate to any member. Just e-mail me from the classic-racing site, and I'll set it up. Thanks for your indulgence, Steve

Roll cage pipe size?
I know this is an old post, but I've been AWOL... Don't forget to consider the number of mounting points for the cage. The class in which you choose to race may have rules regarding the maximum number. SCCA ITS for example limits the mounting point total to 6, with 2 optional forward bars for extra foot protection. Lastly, for your safety, please make sure you are getting enough penetration with your welds. A roll cage with cold welds will do more harm than good! SAFETY FIRST!

WTB 240z in TX
What are you looking for specifically, street, race? DO you have a budget in mind?

'72 project continued
SN8BYTE, I still have ALL of the stuff. I'm not sure I could sell you the coilovers, and ship them to CA for much less than you could buy them new from Ground Control. If you need some struts cut for the addition of the CG stuff, let me know and maybe we can work something out. I have lots of "spares" that could be modified to fit your struts. Buy the CG stuff new (pay the sales tax), and let me make you some struts. That way I can keep my stuff together. R-19

What about the 240 REAR disc upgrades
Thanks Phred... I'm looking for something a bit more DIY than the AZZC solutions, and a bit more complete than the MMS stuff (more DIY also). MSA suggests using the 83-83 rear caliper with your own custom e-brake cable. That may be a way to go? any other insights?
-
What about the 240 REAR disc upgrades
Who has done a 240 REAR disc conversion? I'm particularly interested in the caliper/disc selection. I'm convinced about the fronts: 88-92 Forerunner V6 4WD calipers 84 non-turbo drilled discs possible spacer issues et al ready for the work! :stupid:

'72 project continued
cont... Hot (high comp and 280 cam :tapemouth) 240 motor with 6:1 MSA wrapped header on engine stand Ground Control Coil Over Set with full Camber Plates (Eiback and Tokiko) Glass AND Lexan windows Gutted Drivers door (prepped for EP or ITS door bars) Good body panels all around Wiring harness from original IT car Auto Meter Gauges and original ITS dash (custom mounts for gauges in original dash holes) Custom fuel cell and mount (ITS legal) Quick disconnect steering wheel/hub urethane air damn with ducts (MSA 50-1411) all trim and lights (if you need/want them) no seat, cage, harnesses, LSD units. Reagrding the running hardware, I have the original IT parts and spares of EVERYTHING! Trannies, Diffs (4:11, 3:90, 3:55) If you can't build a running racecar out of this package, you better go back to whatever you were doing before you opened this posting, and I don't want to know what it was... At this point, I am NOT interested in parting out the package. I have no photos at the moment but if you call me, we might be able to work something out. Don't make me sell this on e-bay, please! $5,500 (obro) takes it all! Racer-19 512-694-4602

'72 Racecar Project
I know, I know... Racer-19 has another car for sale... Well this is not just another chassis saved from the scrapper. It's my personal racecar project! I wrecked my '72 ITS Z in St. Louis at Gateway about 2 years ago (turn 2, backed it into the corner station YIKES!). My brother ran the car one more time at a school in Texas and that car handled like  ! It turns out, the driver's side rear suspension point has been moved forward about .25". Without a lot of consideration I chopped the chassis up and sent it to the scrapper. I kept ALL of the components off the car, cleaned them and found a new chassis:cheeky: . I have the CLEANEST AND STRAIGHTEST '72 chassis I have ever seen on God's blue earth. The chassis has NOTHING mounted to it. CLEAN, CLEAN, CLEAN! It sits on and comes with a custom chassis dolly. My intention was to go EP, but I have all of the ITS stuff in case. I have compiled a list of the MAJOR systems below for your perusal: (See next posting)

Lexan Glass Replacements!
SCCA Legal (2002 Road Race GCR) .25" Lexan FMR102 windshields with mar-resistant coating for the Z-Car. Weighs in at 12lbs., 7.5lbs lighter than glass and 250 times the impact resistance. Rear hatch replacement saves 8 lbs. and is SCCA legal! Buy the set (windshield, quarters, hatch) and I'll ship the quarters and hatch at my expense.
