  1. i would have to say the worst thing to fix, or worst designed, portion of the car, would be the spindle pins. the first time i tried to take them out i tried doing it in the car, and soon found that was a bad plan. so i took them out and worked on them in the basement and managed to get one side out. the other side i worked on for a couple days and decided to take in to the shop to see what they could do. three shops later and i found a guy that put a 40 ton hydrolic press on it and still couldn't budge it. with the addition of a lot heat though it finally came out.
  2. i've had nests built in the throttle of my snowmobile, on the inside of the side panels for our tractor, and i found them covering the inside of the fenders on my datsun when i brought it home. they're annoying, but easy to get rid of since they just brush off.

  7. ive spent the last two years rewiring my z from scratch after the previous owner cut every single wire out instead of just pulling off the connecters. since he was nice enough to include a ron francis wiring kit (not made specifically for the car though) i decided to use that. i spent hours trying to figure out how to integrate the systems together, but at least now i know how to fix stuff if i have issues. there was one thing that helped me out a lot, and that was a wiring diagram that we blew up at my dads office so that it was four feet tall and 12 feet long. makes following wires a whole lot easier. other than the windshield wipers not working right yet, everything electrical works great. theres still issues with how the engine runs, but at least it runs.:classic:

the fuel pump is controlled by the air flow meter. meaning that it will only run when the motor is being turned over.after the car fires, the alternator keeps the fuel pummp running till the engine is shut off. they wired the fuel pump to shut off in case of an accident, so it wouldn't spray fuel all over the place. the wire that leads from the battery to the fuel injector control unit has two fusible links in it that control the fuel pump, as the fuel pump is wired into this harness, it is also fused by this link. you could also remove the fuel pump and bench test it to see if that is the cuplrit. hope this helps

im not sure how similar the 240z wiring is to the 280z, but mine has the gauge itself grounded. you might want to check the grounds coming out of the dash.

im going to college at the U of M minneapolis, and so far i've only seen one 350z driving around. other than that theres not even much for ricers. its too bad i couldn't bring my z with me.
  11. i spent around $180 and bought a monza exhaust system. i installed it myself and i got it to fit just the way i wanted it to. the whole thing took about a half hour to do and nothing rattles. i was able to use the factory hangers to mount the entire thing so that made it fairly easy to do.
