3. Yes after 22 years im selling my 1973 240 Zed. In 2000 I striped it back to a bare metal shell and started a 2 year rebuild, using many new and rebuilt parts. One of the states best panel tradesmen spent 350 hours on the body and paint; this is one of the straightest Zeds you will ever find. I then spent over 18 months developing and installing the engine, driveline, suspension and brake systems. The programmable engine management system which comes with a laptop computer, security device and manuals, makes this car behave and drive like any new car. At the last National Concourse in Phillip Island this car ran a credible 2:03.65 for my first time at the circuit, and regularly runs in the low 1:13s at Wakefield Park.<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /> This car carries a full engineering certificate issued in NSW. See photos. http://picasaweb.google.com/RB30ZED Engine: RB30 with RB25DE VVT ported head. ARP head studs and big end bolts. New 0.5mm OS factory pistons give 10.7:1 compression. Tomei cams fitted. New RB25DET oil pump running on modified wide drive crank. 6.5ltr trap door sump. Custom oil returns. All oil galleries in the block crank and head threaded with screw in plugs. Kalmaker engine management. Custom exhaust with long secondary pipes to large resonators. Drive line: Skyline RB20DET double syncro box rebuilt with upgraded bearings. Custom tail shaft with larger uni’s. R180 viscous limited slip diff (3.7:1) New front and rear wheel bearings. Brakes: Dual master cylinders with Tilton balance bar. 296mm front and 300mm rear disc Ferado DS2500 pads. Suspension: Koni top adjustable inserts in shortened struts All ball joints new. King’s prosport springs 3 sets, 325, 300, and 275# Adjustable spring platforms. Rose joint front control arms. Well balanced F & R sway bars. Adjustable rear end. Under chassis brace. Wheels and tyres: Genuine 16X7 Pannasports Toyo RA1 225X50X16 Electrical: Rewired, main harnesses and fitter relays for H4 headlights, VVT engine management and starter systems. Hidden engine harness. Rebuilt alternator. Indicators moved to park lights and park lights in head lights. Body: 350 hour spent on body and paint. Zero rust. Fish oiled regularly Diablo Red Original front panels painted and stored to replace front spoiler. New badges for bonnet and rear quarters. New inner and outer kick plates New door rubbers New glass channels New front and rear windscreen rubbers New windscreen Interior: Re-skinned dash. New carpets WRX seats Original and 4 point harnesses. Custom rear strut brace connects side panels to strut tops, and mounts harnesses. G-tec meter Spares: Original seats Original front indicators Original engine block with matching engine number. Original steering wheel Diff F & R brakes Factory 260Z mag wheels Price: $ 28000 Aust. Contact: Steven Davis rb30_zed@hotmail.com

Hi Tony All true, but id like to roll some cash over to the next project. Also with four cars in the garrage its a bit squezzy.

Yes I heard that was the asking price, and I hope he got it. It was with no doubt the best ive seen. It’s always annoyed me that although we all hope the 240Z will one day bring a sale price equal to its real worth as the best and first classic Japanese sports car, its normally the zed guys that talk the price down.

It’s very hard to put a price to a unique car as yours, but I think you should have held out for $20000 these cars are worth every cent. Im toying with the idea if selling mine too, might see if I can get some interest at Phillip Island. PS anyone know if Strongman sold his 260z and for how much?
7. Dont forget that it would appear that it was only the USA that the 1973 was found to be lacking. Here in Australia the 1973 had round top SU's a 5 speed with 2.9:1 first, 3.9 final drive and only a PCV system. Got to be luck some times.

Crikey, unbelievable, Steve’s down. A very sad day for his fans, friends and most of all his young family. He will be missed.

Thats the great thing about forums, your tired late at night cant think straight, ask a question in the forum and some guy on the sunny side of the world who has just had his second cup of coffee for the morning goes "Oh sure i know what that is " Good stuff, glad it worked out. Steven

Sounds like you are doing a voltage drop test. A voltmeter will only show the voltage difference between two point, so if you had one lead on the negative battery post and one on the Ignition wire with the ignition turned off you would see 0 volts on the meter. But if you have the earth lead of the meter on power, eg the positive battery post and the positive lead on the ignition wire, with the ignition turned off, then you will see 12V as this is the difference between the two points. Turn the ignition on and you will have the same voltage at the two points and should see 0 volts. If you have a bad connection or any other resistance in the circuit you will see a volt or so but you shouldn't have more than 0.25 - 0.5 volts drop. It only make sense as the ignition is working, hope this helps. Steven
12. Mine came from Canberra car styling But some one else has told me that they no longer do it. Which is a same as it did fit well and is very solid. Steven
13. Sorry Guy's I bought this spoiler here in Australia, but im sure ive seen the same one fitted to US cars.
14. Yes im biased but I obviously like the one I bought. Steven

Brett you are 100% correct, but an interesting point about the Karmen tail or as this one is called Pantera after the car, is that it does course more aero drag, but it stops the air flow following the falling body line, which decreases rear lift. Steven
