im on my way out the door but does anybody know where i can get a l28t engine for my car? so i can do the turbo conversion... also umm just a quick question can the l28t handle a T4 garret turbo?

hey all im finally back on the forums but i need a question answered. i want to make my 71 240z a turbo z which engine can i swap so it will be turbo also do anyof you have one for sale or know anybody with what i need to do this for sale cuz i wanna buy the engine and put it in and drive i know its not that simple though... can i put a 280zx turbo engine in the 71' 240z ? without problems plz let me know because i needto know this asap because i had a chane to buy one and the guy sold it because i told him i couldnt use it after a friend told me it wasnt possible . also i cant ge ta v-8 because my uncle wont let me since this is my 1st car. also i want turbo and i want this car to have some balls . also which 5 speed tranny is best for this particular situation im in and alsowhats the compresion i should run and how much do you all think to get what i want to work ...? i got 4800 but dont know where to start in terms of making the car turbo and swaping the engine.

are you serious so it would be a wight reduction and a major power increase ... hmmm sounds good to me. or which do you think would be better for the 1/4 mile? the v-8 or the stock engine.

hey all i do need help but with finding performance parts for my z its a 71' 240z who makes good header,downpipes and exaust also who makes good clutches(triple plated stage 3) and lightened flywheels? ive heard that you can put a 300zx 5speed turbo tranny on the z. and that they are better then a regular tranny because they are really beefy

also ill be needing the sending unit of course if any body has one for a 71 240z let me know because im looking to replace all fuel companents.. and for the engine who whould i ask about performance is there anybody here in particular because i want my engine to put out 4.2-4.6 litres and be stroked.. basicly i want to have the power of the v-8 engine but not the problems of the car with it bieng off balance you know? the stock 240 is a 2.8l right? hey you guy does any body know where to get an old school supr engine ive heard of people doing that and have seen some puuuurty pics of 240z's with hearts of toyota's

hah hey thats what i sent him as an email and it was before i read your posts i also said to use it for a lawn mower but because my friend actually did from his car when he needed a new tank

actually 71-73 all are interchangable on the gas tanks and the 85 280z also will fit on the 240 z liek you said the gas tank is bigger but however the problem is only that the sraps arent long enough so then all you do is use the 280 straps and bam you got a bigger tank also able to be used for a turbo charger as the 240z tank has no return on the tank and the 280's tank does which is needed for the t/4 hybrid turbo 450hp out of the 1 turbo:)

yea ive already tried to re-juivinate my tank but there are severe holes in it like swiss cheese yea i saw this site on the net so it looked good so i joined. my teacher worked for nissan for 5 years working on 240z's only so iit pretty coll he is also gonna help me with getting parts and such. my uncle told me theres 1 rule for the car and thats no v8 engine so what i want to do is trow a stroker kit in it or put a desil crank in the engine and put a vortech super charger to spin the crank better. because i did want turbo at 1st but theres to much work involved with gettin the 280zx gas tank thats an 85' and then trying to get the t4 hybrid turbo alone would be to much trouble for me right now. this car right now is going to be my every day car but i do want high performance parts header,down pipe,exaust (no catt) tri-power webbers, it has mag rims on it now and race tires, plus i want to get a 6speed trany with sequencial gears, or if i cant get that i want a b&m shift kit. and hey is anybody wants them i have the instruction to make a AEM cold air intake system which is really easy to do and you get the same performance as the one you buy.

hi all i just joined the forums and im in search of a 71 datsun 240z gas tank new or used. im almost positive that a gas tank from a 72 and 73 are capatible to so i will take one of those if i cant find a 71 tank.
