  1. As far as rust I know only of the battery tray and the rocker panels being hot spots, where else should I direct my camera? I can see a few small paint bubbles on one side rocker panel. approx size of a large finger print. Yes the car spent time in Colorado, it was my fathers, he spen time, energy, and $$ on the car for a while, but it spent all its time in the garage I dont think I ever saw him drive it in the years he had it. When I got it the tank was contaminated and needed cleaned and sealed. The carbs were varnished shut also, I ended up finding a new su set from a local shop.
  2. This is request to the Z Gurus out there, I have a 1st gen 240z in good condition, I'm considering selling it and want to see if a fair price is worth breaking my heart. Sadly while I love her she has been spending more time in my garage ...and less time on the road. Stats: vin HLS30-00387 Engine: block serial number matches the firewall, it runs well but can't say if the speedo milage is accurate, or how to evaluate if the enging has had any major work done in the past. Are there any things to look for that will say if things are in proper order? (or not proper order). I have been told the rear end is set to the original 90 degree angle to the half shafts and needs moved back a few inches to reduce vibration. This seems to be a standard alteration that has not been performed on this car yet. Also it has the 4 speed tranny. (not sure if this is good or bad.) Interior is good but some areas are carpet...not original vinyl. Seats are recovered with original look alikes and new foam from Motorsport. This car is in good working condition but has some....lets be nice and say non original 1970 parts. All the parts are from Zs but some look to me to be later models such as 72/73. The paint is non-original color, and its missing a few interior parts like plastic covers behind the seats. Dash has the standard crack from the speedo back. Any input or thoughs on how to fairly evaluate this car would be helpful. I have been watching Ebay and a few other sites and have seen a few really nice 70/71's but nothing first 500. Thanks for your input.
