Transporting my Z
- Transporting my Z
Hey, maybe someone can help with this.. I just bought a 240 Z in Florida, I live in Toronto, Ontario,Canada. I was going to originaly drive the Z for 1200 miles. Not really sure I want to do this when i don't know the cars history! With the weather changing and the limited time i have I might just transport it.. I looked up a few transport companys it seems that it would be a ton cheaper if i ship it to a address in the US,Buffalo,NY(BORDERS AND ALL).This is where i need some help. Do any one of you live in Buffalo or upper NY? That I can ship the car to your place and pick it up there? I live in Toronto and it would only be a few hour drive from there. I would be shipping it from Trapon Springs Florida. If anyone could please help with this.. it would be Great!!. I am still new to this forum and the few queations i have asked, well lets just say overwhelmed with the info i got.. This site is AWESOME!! Cheers, Dean- Transporting my Z

Thanks Mike, what a great idea and thanks for the map... I will post when i am going to make the trip I am hoping it will be in the next week or so..I want to get my baby home before the snow falls. I'm sure these Z's are not the best in snow conditions.. What a great help everyone on here has been.. Dean- bought a 240Z need info
Thanks all you guys for the info.. Carl, I will take you up on your offer to give you a call when i'm down there to pick up the Z. Hopefully i will be picking it up in a week or so.. Here is some of the work that the gentleman did: A new starter, rebuilt alternator, new voltage regulator, new fuel filter, air filter and new fuel pump were installed. The stock ignition was converted to Crane optical ignition - the original distributor is with the car so you can convert back if you want 100% original. The exhaust headers were changed to Monza, three two into one. The smog pump has been removed. The carburetors have been rebuilt and balanced and a unisyn comes with the car. All hoses and belts have been changed and are new. The rack and pinion was rebuilt, new tie rod ends installled, new torque arm bushings installed, new sway bar bushings, new front struts front brake calipers rebuilt and new rotors and pads. A new clutch master cylinder, slave cylinder and a new brake vacuum servo was installed. All rear suspension bushings and struts were replaced, brake wheel cylinders rebuilt and new brake linings installed, the drums were turned. The tires are almost new - less than 1000 miles since new. So hopefully it will do the 1200 mile trip home without a problem. thanks for all the info. I will let you all know how she did/does on her trip... Cheers, Dean- bought a 240Z need info
