Well Russel, I have to confess that a few of us drive Bumper to Bumper over here, but unfortunately those #@!!§§§££ drive more around 100 mph :stupid: :stupid: :stupid: It's road terror, but you cannot do a lot about it (until the inboard radar, will give you the correct safe distance, as in the big Merc.). The only way we have to check the "safe distance" is to say twice in your head the world "crocodile" ????? The trick come from the police, can you believe it? space age tech... And by the way, Warning to all of you, France isn’t the road even it’s once was, the government is really concerned by our 8 000 lives/year… Speed traps everywhere.

You are so right Carl. It's not a money game, but more a engeniering game. And you know who they are those people that spend their time fixing trouble they created at first. So the money is only there to liberate their creativity... We have enough monotype formula around to give everybody their chance in this type of racing, F1 is like WRC an other type thats all. It's funny, with all that mind power, the more "restrictions" the FIA guys give to the teams, the faster the car goes the next season ?????? Just a tought, but what would look like a F1 today if the FIA didn't do any of those change : like a 6 wheeled vacumed moving flaps wing-cars with twin-turbo all automatic runing on monster slick tires... and doing warping time almost going in the past at each gas pedal pression.

Maybe the outsiders will shine more this year, I am thinking of Toyota, they are not there just for show they might be the one with the bigest potential outhere, plenty of money and as much (if not more) staff than Ferrari. They now have one decent driver and they now how to build a real race engine, not a qualifying one, but one that run all the laps... Could be fun, and don't worry Ferrari's fan it's still a red car...
  5. Woah, talking about facts... so I guess it will explode... right? Thank's, Fred
  6. :classic: Thank's that's a start. What I need is testimonial here. Any Z week-end racer on this site had "T" rating on their Z and suffer an horror story of blowing tire, runing at full speed :dead: :dead: :dead: ... Or you never had any side effect other than less than perfect handling :classic: :classic: ? thank you, Fred
  7. What tire speed rating are you using, most of the 225x60x14 left are of the "T" rating type, have any toughts about using "T" over "H" tire's rating ? I think that those tires are build with a slight( read big) tolerence, and you? Thanks for your help, as usual, Fred

Was there ever a 240z "50 anniversary". Someone asked me if the one he saw was a real edition or a nasty "fake" ! I know about the 280ZX, and the 300zx (z31) special edition but nothing about the 240z Allan ?
  9. Caen Fred replied to HS30-H's post in a topic in Open Chit Chat
wrong side on the 280zx, 300zx (z32) guess it's the same for the z31...

"Mondeo" Go wash your hand and your keyboard now, their must be some kind of rules against using word like that on this forum :classic: I must admit your right, their is more than panel work to a car. My mum had a "Le Car" when we lived in Ohio, very far away from the Reanult 5 she had in France before, but you can't tell it from outside so! But aren't we far away from Allan post here?

I didn't say the Z styling was inspired an american car, but the Celica is, so are the big Sedans and the pick-up line. Not quite as the same scale. The Z is very European you are right, and Mr G (goofy?) as not a lot to do with that. The only american inspiration is in the overall size of the beast, even biger than the european one... So back to the famous lever, have you thought about the stupid mistake, the one we have all done one day, the big "gee I forgot" maybe it went trough without real concern? and maybe someone said "oups" at the end of the line but it was too late? That would be second flaw of this diva, and what could be the #1?
  14. Caen Fred replied to HS30-H's post in a topic in Open Chit Chat
Allan, do you think that maybe the Japanese used American "inspiration" (I know you would not appreciate the term copy" for the Z as they did for the look of some of their other cars, Skyline +-, celica +++, Laurel+++, cedric++++++... And that the Z concept was so good that, maybe sometime in the story, they decided to make a world car out of the Z ???? So the inspiration did make it some kind of American car but the primary target could have been the home one?? Wish my English would be better, wish my brain could be smarter... but hey this is Z land after all... Fred
  15. Just before "Uncle Allan" step in this one... I think that is more a Prince issue, as they had some design lincence from Mercedes. Some, say that you can even use a few parts from those Merc engines like pistons... Allan, it's yours now... :classic:

sorry, but with this lever in the eye I am having a hard time reading those posts...:stupid: :stupid: :stupid: :stupid:
  17. Hate to do that, be "go to the search area" of the forum... Yes, I am SURE that you can use spacers if the quality of the later are our of question, and just as long as the "print" area of the tire is the same... If you cross the line, well ...

Sorry Carl, I am sure you mean on the right side, next to the pull knob for the side fresh air vent of my RHD. Where else would it be? And now, ladys and gentleman the Big Deal Q : Where is that damned lever on a on Mac Laren Supercar, as the driver seat is in the midle? Ouch, ergonomic should hurt a lot if the right place for this lever is right in the middle of the car !!!!

Brakes?????? never used them never will, only the coward do...
  20. Caen Fred replied to HS30-H's post in a topic in Open Chit Chat
Humm!, I was looking at a Z32 interior pict, and the handbrake lever is STILL on the right side even for the LHD ?????? Maybe it's really a DATSUN trade? By the way where is your bonnet/hood release lever on your car ? I use often a Freelander as a daily driver and it is under the dash still on the right side even so it's a mass market LHD build in this new millenium ???? Tacky Britt... LOL

looks like aluminium to me ! or aluminiezd stuff...
  23. Caen Fred replied to Caen Fred's post in a topic in Body & Paint
I'd rather be behind you anyway, it's a lot less azhardous. You see, Sean as a slight tendency to preserve his brakes by using the one in front of him for stopping ! Ouch (Ok, rubbing is racing but hell...).
  24. Caen Fred replied to Caen Fred's post in a topic in Body & Paint
almost what I had in mind, execpt using mylar sticker instead of polishing the metal... I am lazy lad!
