2 dowel mandatory on racy camshaft?
Well I tried anyway, it's only a 15 min job :nervous: It's running better, and goes a lot faster, I can do the 0 to 60 unhappy neighbours in less than 6 seconds So I guess it's a mandatory thing at the end :knockedou

2 dowel mandatory on racy camshaft?
I understand that it's critical for a race or over enthusiast builder... I was just wondering about this general rule of going to the second dowel with a hotter cam??????

2 dowel mandatory on racy camshaft?
Ho ho... my L28 is at last in my 240Z, together with a nice 5 speed! The engine is running sort of OK as far as I can tell... I have no shaft yet so testing the engine with really unsupportive neighbor is difficult. It's smouth and not leaking. My question: is it mandatory to use the second dowel on a new timing chain kit with a fast road cam? I have read so and would appreciate if I could cut this corner :squareeye But I guess the 4° of timing are going to be missed power wise, no? My spec are: F54 Flat tops 1 mm skimed head 1 mm shims Fast road kent camshaft 280ZX dist 6/2/1 and 1/2 exhaust

240Z starter on l28
Is the 240Z starter from my 240Z auto man enough to crank the L28 with a 1mm slimmed head? In fact it's not even turning the engine at all at the moment! The starter is fine and was OK on my 240Z engine...???? I took it off and it run OK I can turn the engine with 30 lb/ft on my spanner???? When I turn the key, I hear the cliks... it turn 1/4 max and nothing more???? Could it be the battery? I am not speaking about starting the enging... just turning it at the moment Help, I need to prep my car for Le Mans Classic

240z in Europe
No worry about using a Z as a daily driver, it's a car, not a super car! They do rust... as all of the cars post 1980-ish do. But it's reliable and sensible on gas... for a sport car that is! As for the parts, you can still get lots of things trough Nissan Europe (I do!) Then, you have a huge market in UK (compared to Lithuania). You could go to the Z&ZX forum zclub.net and browse the links. The Dutch also have lot of spares by their club... We will be at the 24h of Le Mans with lots of 240Z, drive down there I will buy you a beer!

Pilot bushing size ?
I am about to swap (at last) my auto bow for a 5 speed. I collected all the parts (I thought) until I found out about that pilot bushing! Does someone know the size of it, I need to find one one similar around here, but I figure having the size would be easier than carrying the tranny with me :stupid:

Our president wife, and yours

Be honest as we don't have often input from USA on that matter!:paranoid: No birds name, please

Would it work
What if I aim the injector in the plenum?
-
Would it work
Having a the tunability of modern EFI tech like megaskirt alow you to get multiples maps for different use... Today we where autocrossing in the rain with a 3,1 monster on 45 dellortos... No way to pass the HP on the wet... on EFI you could map a rain setup... I think the SU TBI on the std manifold would work "even" better than even the Ztherapy, it's like having 10 needles switchables on the fly But I like so much the look of the triples
-
Would it work
I am planing an FI L28 and almost settle for the SU TBI. It's a f54+p90 combo milled 1 mm + rally cam. 280ZX EI. 6/2/1 exhaust. I figure if this combo work well with Ztherapy SU it should perform even better on SU TBI. Yet I also have a spare canon style manifold with 3 dirty Dellortos 45 that I would not trust to use as carb again. I also have a spare 280ZX manifold. Do you think that welding the canon manifold on the zx base and using the Delortos without anything else but the butterfly and TPS would make a workable set-up, with MS of course. Or just drill the cannon for injectors???? A sleeper SU TBI is fun, a sleeper 3 Delortos TBI would be awesome

2 SU or 2 ITB ????
I hope it's not already covered, if so direct me to the thread please. If I understand, SU with SM needles are good enough for big street power on a preped L28. Would this option work as well? Lotta cheaper than full 6 TB I am after 220/5 hp not 300:) http://www.extrudabody.biz/servlet/the-135/Twin-SU-SU%27s-MGB/Detail
