  1. Still looking for Lower than 4:11 gears. Like 4:68 would be nice

The tracks we go to, I very seldom get to 5th gear. Actually only two tracks and they are Circuit of the Americas (and I will probably never be there again due to high cost) and Texas World Speedway where I go to 5th and very shortly go back to 4th. I have a close ratio 5 speed FYI. Spend most of the track time in third and fourth which tells me that there is more acceleration to be gained.

Lower, meaning a 4.37 or 4.58, etc. Thanks Jon, yes, I would take the whole diff if someone had one worth the money. I understand the Kameari units are ver, very $$$$$$$.

I'm currently running an R-200 rear end in my track car and I have 4:11 gearing. I would like to find a Ring and Pinion set in lower gears. Does anyone have a lead, or source? thanks

Yep, I read that but then it goes on to talk about inserting the "nails" which is a different type seal. I think you and they are right though, the lips should probably point to the block. Thanks

I posted this in the need help forum but It didn't show up in new threads. Installing new crankshaft side seals. It's a Nissan part. Do the two lips face the block or the crankshaft. This part is a one piece design with the "nail" down the middle of the rubber seal. I'm just insuring that I have the right orientation. Thanks

Installing new side seals. Nissan part. Do two lips face the block or the crankshaft? These are one piece seals from Nissan. Thanks
  9. If your Heim joint is absorbing shock loads, you need higher quality Heim joints. That's what they are for; to eliminate slop in the suspension.
  10. No, the skyline engine with the turbo setup is in Austin. His is very, very tricked out with lots of carbon fiber, twin turbo, etc. about 600 HP. Mine is not nearly that. Hope to see you in January.
  11. Thanks Jon, wouldn't you agree that autocrossers would tend to run those numbers while road racers would have to run much more front couple? I run between 69 and 79 % depending on the track. On very fast tracks, the only way to get around with an oversteering car is to slow down. When attacking a fast corner the last thing you want is for the rear end to swap places with the front. I would imagine in autocross, you could use some oversteering to help rotate the car around very tight corners. Are we speaking somewhat the same language? Some folks on this forum seem to be setting up for some pretty serious oversteer but I have concluded that they must be autocrossing and needing the turn-in.
  12. Jon, what calculated front roll couple range do you run ?
  13. Steve, I am the "other" 240 Z that runs with Drivers Edge. Rick has probably mentioned me to you. I was at TWS in October , I thought I might see you there. I will be at MSR Cresson on Dec 3 and 4. Maybe our paths will cross soon. I run in the red run group. I hope to see you soon.
  14. The Drivers Edge track event that same weekend at Motorsports Ranch in Cresson.. My Z will be on the track. Y'all have a great time.

I'm currently running a R 200 with 4:11 gears and a quaife unit. I'm needing lower gearing. What are my options? Quick Change? Nissan Motorsports VCLS ? Along with your input, please include sourcing info. thanks.
  16. Please consider the Drivers Edge event in May at MSR Cresson. I think you will enjoy the track and I would look forward to seeing another Z there. Jim K.

I recently installed these on my track car. I didn't like the course threaded hardware they supplied so I replaced it all with good stuff. The rods are very good quality and I like them. I gussetted the rear mounting point on the frame rail to insure strength in that area. I would recommend these rods to anyone who is going beyond "spirited driving" on the street.
  18. Rebello Racing is at "DReb995524@aol.com" He can give you a lot of information but I wouldn't expect too much from his shop for 3-4 thousand $, but his advice is invaluable and a good guy to talk to. Best of luck. Jim K.
  19. Like I said, it's just me. Please just take it for what it's worth.....probably not much. Thanks for your service, you are appreciated. Jim K.
  20. I run a Rebello motor and am very pleased with Daves work. Call him and have a talk. For 300, I'm guessing about 10 grand by the time its done. By the way, I hate text style shorthand. I prefer actually capitalizing the first word of a sentence and proper spelling, etc,. Just me.

Steve, I have run about 15 Drivers Edge events over the last two years. They are a great group of folks. I missed the Houston event as I have my car under further modification. Drivers Edge will be in Cresson in February and you wull love that track. I hope to see you there. Jim K.
  23. Are there models that have multiple sensors? Looks like you could put one sensor in one collector, one in the other and be sure the carbs are exactloy the same. I'm talking of course about headers. My headers just have one O2 sensor fitting so what would I do for another?

Got a PM from KAL7467 so the springs and shocks are NLA. Have a Blessed Holiday season everyone!
  25. WW2Winger replied to Marty Rogan's post in a topic in Open Discussions
I've gone to coilovers and these springs are useless to me. What I have is the complete Tokico "kit" from MSA except for the front shocks, (they are now my rear shocks) These springs lowered my car about 7/8 inch. Four springs, (I have them marked as to front and rear) and two BZ 3016 Illumina shocks. All you need is a couple of BZ 3015 for the front and you have the whole kit that MSA sold for $499. (mine is a '71 240 Z)
