76Datsun280z

Ford wanted to take the styling cues from some of the pervious gerneration Mustangs of different years, ie the dash, front and rear tailights and a lot of the lines are the same. Nissan didn't seem to make as much as an effort to do this with the 350, other than the dash in my opinion resembles an s30somewhat with the three gauges in the center. Let's just be glad Nissan didn't do what Dodge did to the with new Charger!:stupid:

Today I passed a really nice fixed up '77-'78 280. Unfortunately I wasn't in mine as I could have given a wave, but I did give it good look!

I personally say it would be wiser to leave it with out starting it rather than starting it for 10 minutes, then shut it off. Unless you plan on fully warming up by driving it a while to circulate and warm up all the fluids like the others have said to burn off the moisture, it would be better to just let it sit.

And also a trickle charger for the battery as well:).

Thanks, the 650l's are a whole lot heavier (very very top heavy) and doesn't feel as much like a dirt bike as the DRZ when comparing the two. Not saying the 650L is a bad bike, but they aren't going to be as much as bike you can though around and much and do doughnuts for example.

I recently sold my '99 Honda XR650L (dual sport) and bought this '07 DRZ400s over the weekend. It arrived today and thought I'd show her off!

Haha funny how that is, I do the samething some times! I'd say 50% of the people that I pass or see give it a look or if I'm out washing it in the driveway or something, they might ask about it. Now that it's painted and stands out more, I've noticed it getting more attention than when it was when primer. I've too also found that none of the 350z drivers pay any close attention or give a wave. I'm always curious to see if they do, but as far as they know, they probably don't even know what it is!

That's funny, my next door neighbor too has a Z car, actually one from each generation except the 350 next time I see him, I should mention the site to him.

I seldom ever see a 240z on the road. There is a blue 280z that is in the area and I pass him about once every couple of months. Other than that, I hardly ever see a first generation Z on the road. It's always a big excitment when I do pass one and I've found most of Z drivers are pretty friendly and give a wave.

Have you checked the fuel injection relay? Place your hand on it, turn the key to "start" and you should hear a click.

I was flipping through a magazine in school today for a project and came across a silver '77-78 280z in the backround of a Castrol oil ad along with other newer cars of today which made me go "there's my car"! I just got a real kick out of it as it being similar to mine and pretty random as you don't see these cars in ad's anymore! In any case, thought I'd share it with you guys. Here's a picture of the ad, I tried to zoom in as much as I could before it got overly blurry, but if you look to the right you'll see the top of it.
