Who drives the Z atleaste once a day?
I thought it might be fun to have a poll to see how often we all drive our Z cars. Since my 280z is my first car, I do drive it everyday.

You can also check Ebay every now and then to see if one pops up in your area so you can go and check out the car before you place a bid.

"wheelskins"
I see, so does this mean that they wear pretty quickly if you've replaced them every few years?

"wheelskins"
Hey guys, I was curious if any of you by chance have one of those "wheelskins" steering wheel covers for your steering wheel and how you liked it and what you thought of it? I put that on x-mas list as my steering wheel is pretty worn and cracked and was wondering what you guys thought of them and how they compare to maybe some of the other after market ones.

first generation Z with a 350z drivetrain
I was curious if any of you have heard or have seen anybody that has put a 350z drivetrain into first generation Z? I'm sure it would require a lot work, but have been curious if any of you knew if it's been done or tried.

Drives better with the choke up. Why?
- Hey guys, Please help, if you can
You might try this guy too. We've bought a lot of parts from him and wouldn't be surprised if he had them. http://www.datsunstore.com/- ...And she's off the road!
Nice bike man! Is it a 650? Last winter, my dad bought me a 99' Honda xr650l off Ebay. Soon after we got it, I took a motorcycle training coarse and got my motorcycle endorsment so my dad and I could go riding together. We mostly trail ride and the occasional ride on the street. The previous owner put a White Brothers pipe on it and modded the carb so it would burn more fuel, but get's only 30mpg which is really really bad for a motorcycle. Here is a picture of it. a beast!- ...And she's off the road!
Sorry to hear your bad news, did you hit a patch of ice or something and lost control?- Light covers or not?
So did these cars originally come standard with light covers already installed when they were new, or were they an option?- Hey guys, Please help, if you can
Oh ok I see.- would these look good on a 280z?
Your car looks a bit like mine! Personally I like the style that's on your car now. I'd decide a color on what you're going to paint it, then decide on the wheels.- Hey guys, Please help, if you can
Welcome to the site! You'll have to post some pictures of your restoration! Here is what you're looking for, you may be able to find them cheaper on Ebay or on a different site, but shows that you can get them. http://www.thezstore.com/page/TZS/PROD/SWL/50-1082- Light covers or not?
Thanks for all your responses and opinions guys. I think I will put those on my X-Mas list, the ones that were in the link that I showed you. I agree to that they really spruce up the front. So what all do you have to do when you take them on and off for the reproduction ones? Is there just one screw that you screw on and off? I think If I get them, I'd probably save them for after the car gets painted because I'm not sure how they'd look with just the primer, but maybe I'd be surprised.- Light covers or not?
Thanks for the info, I was a little skeptical about the light cover being necessary for the H4's. Anyhow, thanks for the pictures. Do you know where you can buy the oringinal oem factory covers with the crome? I agree to that the crome looks better than the black gasket on the reproduction ones. I've looked on Ebay and a few of the Z web sites like Motorsport but haven't seen any of the oem factory ones for sale.- Light covers or not?
I see, thanks for the responses guys, I will have to look into that. I can't remember where I've heard this before, but I've heard that light covers are a must when you have the H4 headlights which my car has, I haven't heard why this is though.- Light covers or not?
My parents have been asking me lately what I want for Christmas since they want to get their shopping over with and I was kind of thinking about getting light covers for my car and putting them on after we get it painted. I know it's a lot of matter of opinion on styling, but I was curious what you guys thought of these? These are the ones that I'm thinking about. http://www.datsunstore.com/product_info.php/cPath/5/products_id/18- Took some really neat shots of the Z ya like?
Very cool! You got a great looking car there!- She's finally on the road...
Beautiful!- L24 worth?
Hey guys, as you may have read in my first post, when we first bought my 280z, previous owners put a l24 engine in it. Since then we put a new correct l28 in it. I was curious how much you guys think it might be worth? It's sitting in our garage now, but the last time it was ran which was this summer, the headgasket blew so that will need to be replaced, it has nothing on it either so no carburators or exhaust manifold. It did have great compression though, 165-170 on all 6 cylinders. My dad I were kind of wondering how much it would be worth in this condition and if it would even be worth putting on Ebay?- '74 260 on ebay, You've gotta check it out!
That is very strange. It's obviously a scam or the guy has done no research at all on how much these cars are worth. Funny thing is is that there are a couple offers on it. Not to menchean the guy made it uglier than hell with those square headlights and those god awfull rear tailights. Just my opinion on it.- a very odd little creature.
Very weird! They must have crawled through the exhaust pipe.- Wire loom screw question
This is a post about something so small, but was curious if your valve covers were the same way as mine. On my valve cover, as you guys know there are three wire looms. On mine, two out of the three screw holes are the same size and the other one is a bigger size, 5/8 I think. I've got two other valve covers and there all the screw holes for the wire looms are the same size so was kind of wondering if mine was made a little differently. Also, if any of you have a spare wire loom lying around and you don't need, let me know I be interesting because you can't seem to buy them individually.- Found a 240 in the junk yard!!
Sounds cool! A year ago my dad and I bought yellow 260z that had been sitting on the ground in a field without the tires on it for many years for $100. We used it as a parts car for my 280z, took some nice parts off of it like the ac unit and and then scraped the car. The car had way to much rust and was damaged in the front so it would have taken a whole lot of work to fix up. - Hey guys, Please help, if you can
