How come you have to "winterize" your Z, you can't drive it every now and then in the winter?

It's also intersting that he doesn't show any pictures of the engine.

Yeah, I'm not big ZX's either. I really prefer the first generation Z's, but I thought that this one really stood out since it had the low original miles and everything...

That's cool, thanks for all the info and the links guys. I think when I started this post that I really meant it to be different things that you guys have learned about driving these cars. I mean like times when to shift and when not to shift, I guess stuff like that.- Speakers?
Interesting, thanks for the info guys!- Finally did it!
That sounds like a fun drive! I'm actually in Kirkland if you know where that is. Maybe you could PM me with more info on this club? Thanks -Austen.- Speakers?
Just looked behind the two front seats and did not see any. This sounds like mine could be an early model?- Driving techniques
Sorry bout' that, I made it smaller size. If you guys would like, you can call me Austen.- Speakers?
My 280z doesn't have a radio in it right now, so I've actually never really bothered and hadn't really remembered seeing any speakers in it except for the back two. Are these the only two in the car, or where are the other(s)? These are the only two that I can find, the back two on either side of the car.- Finally did it!
Yep, that's a good idea. We actually just had that done on my car and had a new fuel pump put in. The gas tank was actually full of sludge from old gas sitting in it. Apparently before we had it, it had been sitting along time and sludge built up in it.- 240z vs. Fairlady
So I've got one more question about this, so is a 240zg much different from a Fairladay Z? The ZG's seem to slope down in the front more than the 240's and the Fairladys. Thanks again the info guys!- 240z vs. Fairlady
Thanks for the explanations guys!- Driving techniques
Alright guys, check out this link, I'd like to hear what you have to say about these driving tips on how to drive your Z. http://www.zspecialties.com/drivingtips.htm- 240z vs. Fairlady
[QUOI hate to wear out the old prase, but 'use the search function'. TE] Yeah, just making convestation.- My wheels
I thought that I'd show you guys the wheels on my car. When we first got it, the old Western Style wheels were in pretty poor shape. They had an ugly orangy red paint peeling off of them and were corroted. After taking a wire wheel to them to get all the orange paint off, we had them sandblasted. My dad then primed them and sprayed them with a PPG Silver paint and they came out beautiful! We also replaced the center caps with new ones and put the Z emblem in the middle.- #247 Up For Sale
Cool, that exhuast look loud.- 240z vs. Fairlady
I was wondering if someone could explain to me what the differences are between a Fairlady Z and a 240z. I could tell the difference between the two because I know that the Fairladys have the mears on the front fenders when the 240's have them on the doors but I'm sure that there is more to this than I know. Thanks, have always wondered what the differences were!- Driving techniques
Thanks for that description as I have always been curious about what double-clutching is too!- 76 Datsun 280z throttle sticking
Thanks, yeah were going to have it painted silver which was it's original color which my dad thinks will be next summer, maybe sooner, hopefully. When we got it, half the car was primer gray, and the other was the original silver so apparently the owners before us never finished the job. We had a lot of body work done to it too. We had all the rust taken care of which it had a lot of at the time. It still does in one area which the guy missed, so we'll have to get the fixed too. Thanks for the help on that one. I've noticed that it gets very foggy in it real quick on those rainy days! The defroster works ok on keeping the windshield defogged but other than that, it all the other windows are all fogged up. Do any of you have any pictures that you could post of these hoses hooked up by chance? Thanks.- Driving techniques
Whoe, felt like I was in Drivers Ed again there for second! Yep, I've been tolled dozens of time by my parents to be very carefull (believe me I am) in it or it'll get taken away if I get a ticket because the insurance would sky rocket.- Driving techniques
Yep, I've been warned by my parents many times not to speed or it'll get taken away. To insure it for me is very very high! Anybody else got any tips??- 76 Datsun 280z throttle sticking
Thanks, guys, I will look today and throttle lingage and see what I come up with. Also, what is that yellowish "bottle" used for? You can see it in the picture that I have of the engine. Mine isn't hooked up to anything and would like to know what it's used for. I can post a better picture of it if you'd like in case you don't know what I'm talking about. - Driving techniques
