I think I'd start saving up for my own. That way, you have two Z's in the family!

  6. Wow, that's really cool! Probably would cost another $500 to ship it our house though.

  9. It didn't appear that this site was ever brought up on here before when I searched, so was curious if any of you have came across this site before. Quite the restoration he did, it looks beautiful! http://dat280z.com/

  11. Sounds like you might have the same problem that I had, I know what it's like! I went absolutely crazy with it, I can't tell you the number of times I pulled the cowl off and my dad and I spent leaning up under the dash while one would poor water into the cowl. Only in my case, it would only drip down on the passenger side floor soaking the passenger floor, so I ended up taking the carpet out for a while until I fixed the problem. I had the door seals replaced and everything and nothing seemed to solve the problem. If those two hoses that EScanlon mentioned that make a 90 degree bend in the corner under the dash aren't cracked, I would start under the cowl. For me, the hoses were not cracked and the source of the problem ended up being a very small rust hole no bigger than a dime wedged just right under the windshield wiper motor mount in the corner in the cowl. Probably the most wedged in area that you could find under there. It took a mirror and a very very lighted area to find the rust hole. The cowl is very dark under there and in a poorly lighted shaded area can make it nearly impossible to find even the smallest hole, so make sure you're in a very well lit area with a flash light and mirror. After patching that hole up and coating the whole inside of the cowling with Por15, it has not leaked a drop since. Any how, here is thread from back when I had the problem if it's any help to you at all. http://www.classiczcars.com/forums/showthread.php?t=24651 And I want to thank EScanlon again for all his help in those pm's back and forth!:classic:
  12. Quite the load that came with you car, very nice!
  13. AGH!! I think I just threw up in my mouth!:disappoin
  14. Yeah, I think I'd go with the slots too. Nice cars!
  15. If you're going to go the route of saving it, it would also make a good time to degrease and clean everything under there.
  16. Wow, more eye candy. Looks beautiful, keep us updated!
  17. Looks like it's pretty clean. It states the ECU was replaced after it had been taken out of storage. I wonder if there was more to it than what the owner stated on why it got parked 23 years ago? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1978-280Z-1-OWNER-79-000-miles-Stored-23-years_W0QQitemZ180216383760QQcmdZViewItem?hash=item180216383760
  18. You've got two great looking Z cars there! It's definitely not warm enough here to wear shorts, but alteaste I can drive my Z everyday.
  19. What kind of rpm's would I expect from a 5 speed going about 65 or so? I'm just tired of running over three grand whenever I get on the freeway.
  20. The new GT puts out 325hp. I'm a huge Mustang fan, if I had the forty five grand, it would be car I'd buy.

  23. I was curious if you've had any time to look into doing this and getting some made again?
  24. I'd think my four speed would be readlined at 110mph considering it's just a little over 3500rpm going 65mph in fourth. Can't wait until I can one day swap a 5speed in her....
