1977 280 Z starting and fuel problems
I'd start out by giving it a good tune up. Oil change, spark plugs and drain the fuel ect. Old fuel gets stail and turns to varnish when it sits like that for long periods of time. Old oil is never a good thing either. If it doesn't seem to be getting any fuel, check to see if your fuel pump to see is pumping fuel. The tank will most likely need to be pulled sometime because of the old fuel and varnish building up inside of there, and you don't want that stuff in your fuel lines and system for obvious reasons. Before just trying to start the car after it's been sitting for a long time, I'd go through it first and like I said, give it a tune up and pulling your tank and having it cleaned would be good for starters. 100 miles just isn't enough for a car to be driven yearly. After you get it her going again have some fun and get her' out on occasion on some nice long drives throughout the year!

Water leakage problem
Good news!! This whole water leakage thing has been driving me nuts lately and has been a preventative to getting my car painted as my dad and I both want to solve this problem before we get it painted. Today has been a real nice sunny day so I thought what the heck, I pull the cowling off and have another inspection under there and thought that the sunlight would help out a lot. Surely it did, I found a rust hole next to the mount on the passenger side for the window washer motor on the side of it if that makes any sense. Any how, when I'd poor water directly over that hole with the hose, it would stream in into the car like no other. After calling my dad with the good news, I temporally filled the whole with silicone until we get it painted in a couple months here (yay), we'll have them repair the hole. Very very glad about this!!! LOL

Replacing Fuel Injectors, and need some advice
Not to argue or anything, but I had a similar problem and from the sounds of it firing off and on intermintenly, sounds like it's getting a bad connection. The number 5 injector wasn't firing on my 280, and my dad and I both thought it was a bad injector. We bought a brand new injector, and guess what, it still wouldn't fire. After taking the connector off, it turned out it was just getting a bad connection and that's all it was. So before you go through it all, you might take the connector off and make sure it's getting a good connection and rule that out just to be sure that's not what it is so you save yourself the trouble of taking it appart.

Quick a/c question
I think I've got it figured out on how it goes on and everything. From my understanding, it does not use a one of these (picture below) belt tensioner bracket for the a/c belt, it uses the small pulley on the bracket for the belt tension? Other than that, I think I'll be able to get it on in no time and have it recharged!

Quick a/c question
Would it be possible at all for someone to post a picture of the compressor on their 260z or 280z mounted to the mounting bracket on the side of the engine? The compressor seems to have a few mounting points and it would be helpful to see how one is already hooked up to give me an idea on how it mounts on to the car as I've never had it on. Thanks!

This Z car's been abused....
Uuuugh! Can it get any worse? I mean, not to be to critical as I am a huge lover of Z cars but just about everything is wrong with that car, ugly totally unecessary brush bar, hub caps that don't belong on any car, sun roof....

Whats your fuel economy?
I was just thinking of posting a mpg thread! Funny how that is... My 1976 280z with a completely stock 2.8l 4 speed I calculated last weekend gets 18.7 for stop and go driving. I've taken it on a few long mile journeys, but not long enough to get a good estimate for highway mpg, so I have yet to find that out...

vapor lock?
Ok, I see what you mean. There's a small round filter that you pop out and I wasn't sure if it was that or the mesh looking filter inside the canister itself that you see after you pop out the small one got replaced. Thanks for the help, I'll email Courtesy to see if they have it by chance or if not I'll ask my local Zman if he's got them for sale.

vapor lock?
So to remove the filter below the canister, do you unscrew it? I guess I'm confusted on how these come out.
