Which tires to get?
I've got 205/60-14's Federals on my car right now, and I'm pretty happy with that size although there aren't very many tire manufactures out there that make that size! I'm hoping to buy some Falcon Ziex 512's in a few weeks as the Federals on mine are almost to the wear marks.

HELP - Head won't budge
When we took out the l24 which came in my 280z, we had the same problem as you, and hitting it with a rubber mallet got it loosend up to the point where you could lift it off. Probably not the correct way to do it, but it worked.

Water leakage problem
Thanks for the tips and the help guys, the windshield gasket we had replaced last summer, so that shouldn't be the problem. I'll let you know what we find out when I take the cowl off next weekend.

Thanks, I bet that's it. It'll probably have to be next weekend when I get a chance to pull the cowl off, but I'll let you know what I discover. Thanks.

1971 240z video with dyno
Being that it's over thirty years old, I would imagine that the engine wouldn't have it's full horsepower as it did when it was new.

Water leakage problem
It has been off before and we did clean it all out, so we don't think that is the problem.

Water leakage problem
Whenever it rains out, water will drip inside the car from underneath the dash only on the passenger side. We just had new weather stripping put on and this didn't solve the problem. Today when I was washing it, we used the hose to try and figure out where it was comming it. When we'd poor the water over the cowling on the passenger side, water would start to immediatley drip in underneath the dash. We toor all the carpet out on the passenger side to let it all dry out since the carpet got soaked. Is there a hose or a gasket that is underneath the cowling that could be causing water get underneath the dash? Or even rought that would be causing this? I'll be taking the cowling off to inspect under there, but before I do that, I need to know what to look for. This is a pretty serious problem that we have to fix as soon as possible because we just had a new radio installed and don't want it to get damaged because of the water leakage, not to mention the wiring. Thanks again guys for all your help that you have given me, it's been a real help. -Austen.

Old Vs. New Z comparison...
That is a cool video! I've never been able to find the "rest" of the video if there is.

Just got a 280Z! New to cars.
Hey, welcome to the site! First off on the fuel consumption, assuming that it's the stock l28, I get around 15-18mpg on my driving and can always go a full week on one tank of fuel no problem. We had a Pioneer stereo installed by Car Toys and it seems to fit great. On the insurance, it was very very expensive to insure for me (I'm 17). I have to maintain a 3.0 to get a discount, other wise we'd have to pay hundereds of more dollars. My parents warned me if I got one speeding ticket in it, that would be it because the insurance would sky rocket after that. So I guess just watch your speed and keep your grades up to get a discount on insurance. And your question if these are good cars,YES!! They are very very fun cars to drive own and take care of. I've found that they're fun and pretty easy to work on when you know what you're doing. Just keep it in good tune and take care of it and that shouldn't be a problem. There's a lot of new and used Z car part stores out there, but here's a link to one of the big main ones that you may want to check out. And we'd like some pictures too! Hope this helps, Austen. www.motorsportauto.com

L28 block with an E88 head good or bad idea
It sounds like your engine may have blown the head gasket.

Outdoor Storage?
Maybe try buying a car cover since they fit tighter than a tarp does to help keep the water and debri out.

The find dreams are made of
Wow, thanks for the update! It sounds to me that you did all that you could, and the guy who you spoke to who owned these cars really didn't know what he had in terms of value and what these cars are worth. In any case, quite a story!

Interesting excuse for selling, 280z on Ebay
I was reading the questions from some of the members and he said in one of them "and I drove it around the block once just fine.", and I thought he didn't know how to drive a stick?

Interesting excuse for selling, 280z on Ebay
It always bugs me when people don't even bother to clean/wash their cars when selling them on Ebay, it really tells something about them and how much they care about it.

Interesting excuse for selling, 280z on Ebay
This guy says that he's has to sell his dream car because "nobody will teach him how to drive a stick". He must really be convinced that he can't learn how or something. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/SCARLETT-The-1975-Datsun-280-Z-Beauty_W0QQitemZ230076342928QQihZ013QQcategoryZ6187QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

Asking to much?
I would assume that a Black Pearl would bring more because there wasn't as many of them made and it was a special edition model.

Tire opinions
Which size will give out better handling and performance, the larger 225/60r14 or the same size that I've got on it now, the 205/60r/14? In your opinion, what rout do you think I should go on this?
