I did have a tracking number and it was fully insured. Its just turning into a mess. The buyer does not want to co-operate? i don't know why. Its in HIS interest...

I had a brilliant way to partially finance my 240z restoration project. I work for a company who is a major vendor for a major grocery chain. The company I work for is in charge of all the computers for the division. We are responsible for deploying new computers and retiring the old ones. Through a contract the old computers are resold wholesale. I purchased a small quantity of used IBM laptops like R32,T23,R50,X22 and so on. The math says I'll get about a 300% profit, but I kinda doubt that... anyway.... I then clean them, upgrade the memory, put a factory OEM image on the hard drive, and thourghly test it for 24hours and then sell them on eBay. So far, I got my purchase price back, but its lots of time and work. The problem: I sold an R32 on Christmas day that went for almost double what its worth. I shipped it on the 26th scheduled to arrive in Detroit on the 28th. Two weeks later....This JERK in Detroit (nothing against Detroit) insists he never got the laptop! Why did he wait so long? I filed a claim with DHL. DHL claims it was delivered and initially denies the claim. DHL then asks for a signed affidavit from the seller to the receiver stating the receiver never got the product. The receiver refuses sign and fax the affidavit to DHL. He wants his money back. I refuse until DHL pays out the claim. DHL is denying the claim because he refuses to follow procedures........ Why can't something go smoothly? Any thoughts? Has anyone had such terrible selling experiences as me? I have sold about 5 so far and I have about 25 more laptops.... Is it gonna be like this for the majority? Ebay seems to bring out the worst in people? All I get is a bunch of freaking crooks wanting to steal your bank account numbers , ebay ID, Identity, or all of the above..... WTF is wrong with people? HELP!

Where in KY? ARGAHHHHA!!! Oh well, I couldn't talk the wife into that one anyway.... I am only about 140 miles South of Westerville. greg
  4. Hunk of JUNK!!! Feel sorry for anyone who buys that POS....
  5. I haven't used them yet but I intend to..... I have been told Moyer Fuel Tank Renu is a very good and reputable company. http://www.gas-tank.com/
  6. That is a scam. Seller has a 0 feedback rating....Not to mention the photographs are copyrighted from TunerZine and used without permission. Its been reported to ebay. Not that its ANY of my business..... I do lots of business on ebay and had a friend fall prey to a fake ebay sale like this..... SAD GORGEOUS Z!!! WOW!
  7. Check it out.... 260Z Looks to be in decent shape. If I had garage space it would be mine!
  8. Has anyone had any success with this product? http://www.eastwoodco.com/shopping/product/detailmain.jsp?itemID=16394&itemType=PRODUCT&iMainCat=459&iSubCat=460&iProductID=16394 It looks pretty reasonable, but does it stand up to Professional grade powder coatings? It would be great for small suspension parts and what-nots...
  9. I wish my Z looked that good! $995 is a good price. Its to far from me otherwise I would buy it....
  10. I've owned my z for 8 years. It rotted at my uncle's place in Florida for 5 years. Then the day before Hurricane Francis I dragged it to Kentucky where it still sits today in my Mothers garage... I got to drive it once! Have you ever tried to load a non-running vehicle onto a u-haul trailer sitting in sand in the midst of a hurricane? LOTS of new combinations of words were flying that day!
  11. Awe.... I would kill for steel in that good shape.... well not really. But here in Kentucky (where shoes and shirt are optional) so are good quality sources for steel. IMO, don't cut a perfectly good hood. I had to go to Gainesville, FL to get 1 decent fender.....
  12. Gorgeous Red Z BTW!!! Having done the restoration once is enough for me!! I'll farm out the body work. But I plan on doing everything else myself... Every summer for 10 years I would travel to Florida for at least a month or so to work on the Z. Believe it or not, I pulled the motor out, rebuilt, painted, back in and running in 3 days when I was about 17. It was the first motor I rebuilt and it started on the first few seconds of cranking. Oh, those were the days!!! nothing to care about except how to get motor oil out of your hair...
  13. YES, So true!!! For years I begged my father to purchase replacement parts for that Healey. If he would of bought the parts back in 76 when he parked it, he could of had REAL replacement parts for a few dollars. Now its thousands for poor fitting reproduction parts!! I built a 12 x 16 foot shed for storage of car parts.... Its near full. My wife complains that all I do is buy parts and never install them... :knockedou Looking for a right front fender and inner rear wheel arches....
  14. HA HA:p That Healey has been parked unmolested for 30 years! A few more won't hurt it. Besides, I would have to fight my Mother, 2 brothers, and myself before I could sell it! Good try though :classic: :classic:
  15. Hi all, So I'm new to the forum. I look forward to everyones input. I have a 1970 240z that I purchased from my uncle before he passed away from lung cancer. The build date is 1969 but I don't remember the month. VIN is HLS30-00379. This Z has had a pretty tough life... barely survived a Texas hailstorm, 30 years of Florida heat and hurricanes, and an amateur restoration by me when I was 14. She is in good running shape except the typical rusted wheel wells, door bottoms, fender bottoms, floor pans, rails.... and poor craftsmanship by me when I was young and ignorant. I live in the Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky area. Grew up at the Mid-Ohio race track. Love anything with a motor and tires. Awaiting restoration is a 1959 Triumph TR3A and my Dad's 1965 Austin Healey 3000 BJ8. I have a one car garage and NO time due to an always "ON" 2 and a half year old. I will probably take the Z with a wheelbarrow full o' cash to someone who restores them. Does anyone know anybody that does quality Z work within a 150 mile radius of Cincy? Are there any Z's in Cincy? no Cincinnati Z club? I see lots of em at the Vintage race at Mid-Ohio! I saw one BRE replica a few years ago... Sorry for the long introduction.... Greg
