Try Danny's Datsun. He's selling everything and I'm told going out of business. (541) 430-1180

Boy, I'd love to have that '72 pickup. You just don't see many old Datsun pickups like that.

Neither connector will fit thru the hole in tha acorn. However, you can remove the connector that connects directly to the back of the headlight. You can use a small flat screw driver and remover each wire and then you can pull the wire through, the wire ends will easily clip back into the connector.

The headlight acorns on my '72 240z are in bad shape. I have some decent acorns off a '75 280z. However, the wiring connections are different. Is there any way to remove the wiring from the '72 and put in the acorns from the '75 without cutting the wiring? There's a gromett the wiring goes thru, but it doesn't look like if the gromett was removed that the connector would go thru. Has anyone tried to remove this wiring with any success?

Thanks a lot Arne and Mr. Camo. I appreciate your responses. Now I know what to expect if I choose the get the 73 grille.

Not sure what you're referring to, but the salvage yard z is white, and of coarse the grille is black. If your referring to my avatar, my '72 is blue.

I've got a '72 that needs the front grille replaced. A local salvage yard has a '73 with a decent grille on it. Will a '73 front grille fit on a '72. I'm assuming that it will. Just want to make sure.

Haven't been able to get on to the ZCar club store. I'd like to order the michrofiche CD. Anyone know if it's just temperarily down? I've trying clicking in the upper right corner and also down the left side but it doesn't seem to be working. When I click on it, it says, "Unable to connect to database server!"

I just put a set of Falcon ZE 512 205/60R14 on my 240z. They were $69.99 each at Big O Tires. They weren't in stock, but only took a day to get them. I haven't put many miles on them, but they seem to handle well.

The fill plug is right above the drain plug. The white plastic plug on top of the diff is the vent.
  12. Just replaced mine yesterday. The PO had replaced them and used regulars hose clamps with a 5/16 head. I couldn't get a nut driver or flat head screw driver on it. What I did was us 1/4 in. drive ratchet with a universal joint to allow me to get the angle I needed. Once I got the hose clamp off I used a razor knife and sliced the hose length wise and peeled the hose off the nipple. I didn't remove the blower, but it would have made it a lot eazier.
  13. After reading this post, I saw that the knuckle head that is trying to sell this Z lives in my home town (Logan, Utah). I'm real tempted to email this guy and take a look at the car, and ask him what is so rare about it and why is it 1 of 50. I could really use a good laugh. Any suggestions?

You know I have considered restoring#04312 but it will need new floor pans and rails as well as many other rust repairs. The interior is in bad shape. I'm really contemplated not parting it out, and just holding on to it. I've already got a good start on my 72Z. So I'll just continue on it, and probably leave the '70Z alone for now.

I bought my first 240Z ('72 HLS30-59758) in October, it had been sitting for 9 Yrs. I had to tow it home as it didn't run. Of course it has rust in the common places don't think I'll have to replace the floor pan though. I've replaced the entire brake system, (MC, calipers, wheel cylinders). I've rebuilt the carbs with a ZTherapy rebuild kit. It runs real well. I love these old Z's. A few weeks ago I found another 240Z ('70 HLS30-04312) well you guest it. I bought it and drove it home. Underneath is pretty rusted. I don't think I want to restore it, so I'm gonna use it as a parts car. This website has been a great help. The site has gone down a few time lately, and I'm biting my nails waiting for it to come back up. Any members live in northern Utah? I'm in Logan about an hour and a half north of Salt Lake City. Just want to say thanks to you seasoned Z owners for all the great posts. Us rookies really use this website and really appreciate the help.
