Anyone know this vendor?
I've never dealt with that particular vendor, but if you search on this board for 'ur-gelis' or for 'datsun-parts' you will find plenty of posts from people who have. My advice would be to stay away.

New import cars suck-old ones were great/I'm right you are wrong/whatever else.
If you're within your rights to insult a new member's car and to spout nonsense about Japanese cars in general without one shred of evidence to back up those statements, then I am within my rights to point out your error. I will ignore your head in the sand, redneck isolationist crap, because that's a topic for another forum. But you can convince me that you are right and I am wrong if you will cite one piece of independent data that shows that the quality control of Japanese cars has gone DOWN in the last thirty years and not UP. Data means something that you didn't make up, by the way.... Otherwise, I am done with this 'discussion', or nonsensical pissing match, or whatever it is. Stephen's 'arguing with a sign' comment is making more and more sense to me.

The Amelia Island Concours d'Elegance
This would be very much appreciated; I'd be interested. I'll be selling this to the wife as a 'beach weekend with a car show mixed in'....having other options in the JAX area to get the wife and daughter's interest stoked would be very useful. I'm from the Daytona Beach area originally, but just never spent much time in the Jacksonville/Flagler/Amelia Island vicinity.

And you quite expectedly missed the point. Again.

I agree. Capitalism undermines the country's value? What? This might sound great down at the local redneck bar, Tomo, but if you break out your history books you will see that you are wrong on several points. Isolationism has been tried, and the result in our case (I'm speaking americacentrically, I know we have a world audience in here and I apologize) was several hundred thousand dead Americans. World Wars I and II, maybe? As a self-described fan of Japanese cars, I can't believe your close-minded attitude towards foreign imports, or your lack of understanding where the world economy is concerned. Here's an idea. Sell your worthless, cheap, Jap piece of junk and buy a Mustang II. Oh, wait....are there any of those left?

Both my Toyota and my Nissan were made in the US, by US workers. I thought it was common knowledge that many models of Japanese cars were made in this country now; guess I was wrong.

Hold on to Your Hats...an $82K Euro Rally Spec 240z...
I was thinking the same thing, Steve. The guys at BaT obviously like Z's (although they are certainly not experts, you can see from some of the 'car on the street' features that they don't know many of the Z-specific styling cues that would indicate what year a car was manufactured, for instance). So while I enjoy the site and have for many months now, I take all of their commentary with a grain of salt...something that we all should probably do, in the new world of blogging and the internet. Something doesn't have to be true or accurate to get published anymore.... While Alan certainly knows more about the rally car history of the Z than probably anyone, he would probably be wasting his time posting about it on the BaT boards. That site is for the more casual fan of the automobile, and is not niche specific. The English rally car is beautiful....I'd love to own that machine.

1975 280Z 2+2
Chris, was this picture taken in Thunderbolt? The street scene behind the car looks very familiar to me, I'm wondering if my brother and I drove through there on the way out to Tybee the last time I was down that way.

Yes, exactly. Tomo has it completely backwards, becuase if you follow his logic, a Toyota is considered to be junk today. I don't think so..... Following WWII, anything with the 'MADE IN THE USA' label on it was considered a quality item, while 'MADE IN JAPAN' meant you were looking at a cheap knockoff. Even the cars were considered throwaways (ever seen the '69 Subaru video that's up on Jalopnik.com?). The 240Z and the 510 broke the mold, and showed that Japan could compete with Detroit. With regard to the car in the post above, I say to each his own. I definitely look forward to seeing some photos of the car.

This is the s-shaped line, correct? I was able to get them from the dealer.

Paint stripping question
Randy, is this the car that you were looking at a couple of weeks ago? Did you buy it?

help with the 91 civic wiper motor swap
Yup. I've done the same thing a number of times. Many of the items I've sold on eBay have been of the 'bought it, didn't need it' or the 'bought it, wasn't the right thing' variety....I guess looking on the bright side, you can write a good description of whatever it is once you do your homework and figure out that it's not what you needed....ha.

Paul Newman
I just ran across this 'Paul Newman' Nissan Skyline ad the other day.... http://jalopnik.com/5038699/paul-newman-thinks-the-1984-nissan-skyline-is-terrific

help with the 91 civic wiper motor swap
I've been thinking about doing this swap myself, but haven't started it yet. The correct Civic wiper motor has three bolt holes and not four (as in the one you've pictured).

Ordering paint by the paint code
In my case, I gave my body man the paint code (904 white) and he ordered the corresponding Sikkens paint. So you can easily do this, there's no real trick to it. What people are trying to tell you is that the color that you get using this method is likely to be dramatically different than the color that your car is now. So if there are any areas that aren't being painted (engine bay, etc), those may appear to be dramatically different than the new paint color. That's why matching is preferred if you're not painting everything and want the two colors to match closely.

Ordering paint by the paint code
Neither did I. You learn something every day......

Ordering paint by the paint code
The underside of the toolbox lid is a good 'original color' sample.

Looking at a 260Z This Weekend
Rust, rust, rust, rust, rust....that's what you should be looking for. Look under the battery at the tray and the front frame rail. Also the floorpans, dogleg panels, floorboards (especially on the passenger side), rear frame rails, and the panel under the rear hatch. Looks like a nice little car from the photo. Let us know what you find.

New Guy in Northern Virginia
Hi Mark. Welcome to the club!

Just bought Z #3, 1973
Just don't let anybody turn the car into a Newfie dance platform, and you'll be all right.... Seriously, though, you're going to share some photos of Z #3 with us when she finally arrives, right?

Any Thoughts on New Tires?
I'm running gForce Sport tires on my car (225/50/15's) and have no issues with rubbing. My car has Tokico springs and shocks, and Konig Rewind rims. http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires.jsp?tireMake=BFGoodrich&tireModel=g-Force+Sport

Repro headlight covers
I would definitely buy a set, Will, if not two or three. Keep us posted!

Finish it... time to enjoy now
I'd love to have a set of those rims on my car. Beautiful!

Very, very nice. The rebuild on that car has been a labor of love, obviously. What wheels are those, Filipe?
