Try this for Craigslist searches: http://www.crazedlist.org/
  2. I have run into him at a couple of local autocrosses. Very nice guy, with a very nice Z car. I think you'll find that everything is going to be just as described. That car is sweet. If you find yourself in Asheville with some time on your hands, let me know. I work downtown and could definitely break loose and say hello. I have a few photos of the car, although he's likely sent them to you already.
  3. That looks like Mark Feightner's car (he had it for sale in the Asheville, NC area last year, not sure if he sold it or not). If it's the same car that I think it is, it's a beauty.

Very nice looking car you have there. I love the white exterior/red interior combo. Congratulations and welcome!

If I'm not mistaken, Metro makes the saddle consoles that MSA sells.
  6. I think Dangly was joking, but I agree with Stephen. 'Body color' painted wheels only look right if they happen to be 'dog dish' style rims.

Oh, yeah? Then you have to pay for the DVD!

I've been trying to figure out if 'Full House' is a bot.......no, really. His posts seldom make sense, and check out the sig.

That's what I was thinking, too. He's used the tranny and the third member but not the motor....swapping an L-28 into a 510 has been done, but requires a major surgical procedure to the firewall, since an inline six doesn't fit in a 510 engine compartment. Still, I had a ZX tranny in my '68 510 and it is a sweet upgrade. Bolts right in, just requires slight modification to the shifter hole.
  10. Yes, he did. http://www.classiczcars.com/forums/showthread.php?t=30638
  11. Looking good! You're a lot braver than I was, Arne. I let my paint cure in the driveway for a month before I even started any kind of real reassembly! The only thing I put back in was the quarter windows.

My 5/71 car has the piece with unequal lengths.

    Nice!
  14. On NPR this morning, they played a clip from the 'Went With The Wind' skit (a parody of 'Gone With The Wind') from the old Carol Burnett Show. Hilarious stuff.....

Your forty acres aren't in the middle of a commercial district, and that is the difference.

What makes that strategy messed up or shady? That place looks like a real eyesore, and the cars are just going to deteriorate if they continue to be stored like that. You could make a very strong argument, as Carl intimated, that the place is an environmental hazard. If the cars are sold, they'd be put back into circulation where people (like us) could benefit from gaining access to the parts.
  17. I like the car from the B-pillar back....that part of the car looks like a Z. I don't care for the headlights or the front of the car at all, from what I've seen. Way too much like the 350Z.

'Speechless' is a good word for it, yeah. The shame of it is that some interesting craftsmanship has gone into the building of this.....thing.
  19. Obsessive? Over a Z car? I resemble that remark.....! I didn't do the buffing myself, the guys at the shop did that after they wet sanded. Some of the other guys might have some recommendations on what kind of buffing compound to use, though....
