:devious: 71 240, we were replacing the head lights, at test time, I turned on the switch, nothing, Checked the fuze, nothing, started the car, all came on ok, then, amp meter charging 45, then fuze for the lights blew, and smoke from under the dash. Checked all connections, replaced the fuze, all systems work, but still charging 45 on amp meter. A call to the local Z gooroo, he says take a wire from the pos bat. to the hot lead on the alternator. It worked, charge is normal, I asked what that meant, he says give $150 and I'll tell you. I have not been able to find a scematic for the 71, our book starts at 74, with fuel inj. on it. Any thoughts? Thanks Ray67
