I am in need of a mounting ring for the shift boot used on 72 to 78? Zcars. I believe it has 4 holes to attach the boot to the floor pan. I can't seem to find them in parts catalogs. My 5 speed shifter doesn't work right with the original 71 shift boot so I'm going to use the later type, but I also need the mounting ring. Any help would be appreciated.
  3. Glad to see another 240Z owner here in Lincoln. I can't help you with the choke part, but you might try one of the motorcycle shops to see if they have anything to get you back on the road. There is a 72 240Z in the Omaha U-pull-it yard but no console or choke cable left in it. Good Luck

Based on your VIN, build date and engine numbers it would appear its the original engine. It must have come down the assembly line shortly after mine did. Good luck on your resto. Where are the pics?

Sorry, I didnt mean to post here.
  6. Gee, I thought my 71 was the only one still running with all the original hoses. They must have used some good materials back then.
  7. I've had my 240 for 31 years now. Bought it from the original owner in 1975 who purchased it new right here in Lincoln, NE, so its never left home. Since it was never a daily driver or driven in the winter it's still in good shape (60k miles, original green paint, no rust). I used to autocross it some, but now its just a sunny day driver. Changed the rear gears to 3.90 for the autocrossing and later swapped in an 83 5 speed when the speed limits went back up. Now that I'm semi retired I've got more time to spend on the little things it needs, but its been put to bed for another winter in a nice dry place.
  8. Even 215 /60 14s will fit without rubbing. Thats what I am running with stock springs. The manual steering gets a little heavy though. Good Luck
  9. The wiper linkage is held on the motor by a nut (8 x1.25mm thread) and lock washer. You should be able to get those at a local store. The linkage has a slot that fits over the threaded motor shaft hub and the nut holds it in place. If the linkage is broken then you will probably have to get them off a parts car. Good Luck
