ZDayZ 2008, The Tail of the Dragon ravages two 350Z's
I agree with westpak. For an older guy with a first generation car, I have no interest in going back for ZDayZ. I did like Fontana Village. It would be a good place to vacation. Some of the best outdoor recreation sites I've seen in the eastern USA. It is also high enough in altitude to be cool in the summer. I nice place to take an early morning drive before the crazies come out.

ZDayZ 2008, The Tail of the Dragon ravages two 350Z's
A kid spin out one infront of the other. Vision is very very limited on those tight curves. The older folks were tough, one in a leg cast and the other with a shoulder injury. Two bad motorcycle wrecks happened the same day. Those roads are not to be toyed with. I saw some very stupid behavior while up there.

ZDayZ 2008, The Tail of the Dragon ravages two 350Z's
ZDayZ is held in Fontana, NC. That is the extreme western part of the state near TN, AL and GA. Cars from as far as Ontario, Canada and New Orleans were there. I made it to the events on May 17th. Including a long line of Z's going very fast on The Tail of the Dragon and Hellbender in the early morning hours. Two new 350Z turbo's did not survive the day. Those roads require serious experience before attempting at speed. I was able to easily keep up with modified 350Z's with my stock 1970 240Z. The roads twist so much the 2,300 lb 240Z had an advantage on the heavy newer Z's. Even in the 1970 car, you spend most of your time in 2nd gear. I've uploaded pictures of the event to my gallery at http://picasaweb.google.com/nov1969z . No pictures of the post-wreck cars. There are pictures of a new GT-R Nissan. The official event site is http://www.zdayz.com but I have not seen any pictures there yet. A site about the roads is http://www.tailofthedragon.com

is $499 a good price for tokico illumnia struts & springs?
I guess the tokico illumnias are the best thing available at this point. Is $499 a good deal for the set of struts and springs for a 240z?

My bro's 1971 240Z
My older brother owned this car. It was the first I ever drove. This car was T'd in the late 1970's and broken in half. Luckily my brother was not badly hurt in the wreck. '

My 11/1969 240Z
This is what Z number 319 looks like today (2008). I use it as a driver but do take it to car shows occasionally.

Which Spring/Strut setup?
My old struts and springs are worn out. I'm trying to figure out what to replace them with. I drive my 1970 240z as a street car. No racing. My mechanic recommends the nismo euro spec springs but I can not find any to buy. I found Tokico and Eiback sets for sale online. Stage II & III types. Does anybody have a recommendation of what would be good for a 1970 for ordinary street use?

Z owner since 1977
I've owned my current 1970 since 1979. I just can not part with it. I still drive it to work frequently. More frequently since gas prices went so high.

Z's on YouTube
After seeing other people's YouTube Z videos I had to do one myself. If you go to my video YouTube will automatically show links to other Z videos. My car is the 319th Z made in 11/69. It is mostly stock and has never been rebuilt. I tached it up to 6k RPMs in 2nd and 3rd. The straight 6's sound cool :-)
