Where do these Radio wires connect???
Thanks guys for the information, Steve, when I was playing around with the wires and got power I couldn't turn the radio off without disconnecting the wires, in other words by pushing the knob in to turn it off, it didn't turn off, the light continued to illuminate. Also, is the Blue wire the Antenna even though I have a completly seperate antenna switch? I didn't show it in the picture, but on the top right side I have another switch with three blue wires extending out. Thanks for the replies. Randy

Quick 1971 question
Hey Brian, Here are the pictures from the PO who sold me the car, I won't have it until late next week or the next....more like the next. I have been looking for an original Green FOREVER, and so I decided to take a chance on this one. From talking with PO it sounds like it's in pretty decent shape. He states very minor rust, surface only.....well see, and great running condition, althought it needs vent hoses. It was "restored" by a nissan dealer in 1987 I believe, but hasn't really been touched since then. I'm excited about the car, can't wait till it gets here. My Orange 73 will finally have a Big Brother. Let me know what you guys think if you see something out of the ordinary...I have thick skin, so let the comments fly.....

Where do these Radio wires connect???
Hey Guys, I'm trying to install the factory radio on my 1973 Z but can't figure out the wiring. I'm assuming the PO could have made some changes so here's what I got so far. Coming out of the radio I have the following: Blue wire...........? Gray.................speaker? Gray/Blue..........speaker? Red..................? Coming out of my car I have the following: Yellow with 1A..............? Blue with 5A.................? Black...........................Ground? L and R speakers............To Gray and Gray/Blue from Radio? When I connect the ground to the radio, the Blue 5A to the Blue radio wire, and the Yellow 1A to the Red the radio comes on.....and stays on, you can't turn it off. When I reverse the Blue and Yellow nothing happens. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Randy

Could someone post an upclose picture....
Could someone post several close up pictures of the 240z Radio. I just removed my aftermarket unit, but the original just doesn't seem to fit right. Once the faceplate is on should you be able to see the metal top part of the Radio if you look toward the back? Just need a refrence point....I'm stuck. Thanks, Randy PS....it's for a 1973 model

I just recently purchased a 1971 that has the round emblems and I didn't know if those were correct...I say this because it's whats pictured in the photo's I have, the car is in transit so I havent seen it in person yet. I will check the VIN, and build date and post it for more clarification. Thanks guys, Randy

Sputtering...loss of power....
Thanks for the advice.....I appreaciate it.

Sputtering...loss of power....
Well, I just took the 73 on a very short drive and when I was about half way home the car started to sputter, it got worse the more you feed it gas, but you could come off the pedal and rev it in neutral. I put it back in gear and started down the street and again it sputtered and you could notice that it had a loss of power as well....... I am no mechanic so any feedback would be appreaciated. Could it be: Fuel filter spark plugs bad gas or something more serious... Thanks, Mally

Installing an Electric Fan...
I just finished installing my electric fan several weeks ago, you will find that it is easier than you think. Like it was said earlier remove your old fan to make room for the electric and mount it more to the left side....(as viewed behind the steering wheel) It is a tight fit, but it will work. Mine is attached with pull ties that go through the radiator fins, it holds the fan very well. Once it's attached just make sure you wire it for puller mode. You will need some type of breaker that you can buy at any auto store for around 6-10 dollars. Mount your t-stat, connect your wires, and run it to the battery.... Here's a few pictures of mine if it helps........Good luck, Randy PS....Yes, I know I need to detail my engine bay........

Clock and Radio faceplate
Here is a picture of mine, can it be fixed? I have been searching for a faceplate for three weeks with no luck. I bought one off ebay that was described as "not broken" but of course it was. (seller did refund my money though)........So if that mystery person is interested let me know. Thanks, Randy

Factory Restored 240Z's
, Doug, you may be right, but I'll probably keep her and keep looking around for a green Z. If I could have found a Nissan Restored 907 4spd, then I would have given some serious thoughts to buying it.....love that 907. BuT I also love my 918"Refreshed" 240 as well.

Factory Restored 240Z's
Bob, Thanks for the reply and information. I'm toying with the idea of selling my 71TR6, but only if I could find a 907 color 240. Still in the undecided phase, as I still enjoy dropping the top on the TR. I did see one on Ebay that was around 8K, looked clean with little work needed. Regards, Randy

Factory Restored 240Z's
Thanks Carl, Do you know how many were done in Green #907 with 4speeds. I noticed one gentleman had two of the restored Z's in GA I believe, and one looked like a 907 color but with an automatic. Thanks, Randy

Factory Restored 240Z's
Are any of these cars currently for sale? I wasnt sure if the owners would post on Ebay, or if there was a more "legit" site.

Anyone have a radio in decent condition that you would be willing to sell? I'm looking for one for my 73 240Z, and yes I saw the one on Ebay for....Gulp.....$425, but that's too steep for me. If someone has one they want to sell please let me know. Thanks,
