How the heck do you wire this thing??
Thanks guys, I got the fan hooked up and it's working great. So far the temp gauge hasn't gone past halfway with the new radiator, 160 t-stat, and electric fan....Yea.

How the heck do you wire this thing??
Thanks fella's, I do have the thermo kit, It was in the original box from BD but in a seperate plastic bag so I missed it. It does have a crude diagram to go by. This fan does connect to the radiator via plastic threads...(I hope they hold) Quick question though, in the temperature control kit it says to wire "ignition controlled or constant 12v power source" does this mean it's always "on" but only when the sensor reads the desired temp, in other words, it can start up even when the ignition is off and stays on until the temp drops?

How the heck do you wire this thing??
Ok, I just installed the new radiator and I have mounted the electric fan from Black dragon. The fan has two wires...Blue and Black, black is negative. To test the fan I ran the wires to the battery and it started blowing air...Yea...I think. Not to sound stupid, but where do I go from here? The instructions say nothing. If I run the wires direct into the battery it will be on all the time. I'm sure I'm missing something simple, but how the heck do I wire this thing. I want it to run when the key is on right.... Any help would be appreaciated. Randy

Replaced Door Seals & Can't Close Door
I feel your pain....I went through this for two weeks and while I could finally get my doors closed after silicone and adjustment it was VERY tight. Here was my solution and it worked great, a perfect fit and you don't have to slam the doors to close them.....I know it's not OEM, so don't gang up on me too hard, but here goes.......Pep Boys..... I bought their weather strip kit and it works PERFECT, but it's $29.00 a bag and you will need 4. Here's a picture. Good luck.

Arne, I just tracked the shipping of my oem thermo and it will be here on Thursday...a 160 degree. Hopefully I'll have it in and running by Friday and let you know how how it performs. On a side note, I did run the car about 8 miles this weekend without any thermostat and it ran cool until I had to stop and idle for about 45 secs. In that time it got hot again, not 3/4 over but a little past halfway. I'm sure the new thermostat will help, but I'm also replacing the radiator and installing an electric fan.

Still waiting on a new OEM t-stat that I ordered last week. Pulled off all the old a/c equipment and still trying to install the new electric fan...(see other thread, as I'm still having trouble). Hopefully by next Wed all will be back on and the results will be good. I'll post how it works soon. Thanks

Electric Fan came today....now what???
Deesz, Thanks for the info, you were right I did need to adjust the pulley. It's a rotten, cloudy day here so I'm forcing myself to try and get this fan installed. Would you know if its proper to mount the fan left of center on the radiator? There is not enough room to mount it in the center as the old fan pulley is in the way. I can however slide it right down into position on the left side, or drivers side but wasn't sure if this would cause any problems. What other solutions would there be if it has to go in the center. Thanks

Electric Fan came today....now what???
Thanks Nissanman, I got the original fan and clutch off the car just now, do I replace the 4 nuts back on the pulley? or does that whole assembly come off. Heres a picture of what Ive done so far. Any words of wisdom appreaciated. Randy

Electric Fan came today....now what???
Ok here goes, those with mechanical skills please don't laught too hard after reading this..... I just got my electric fan from Black Dragon today and after opening the box I am totally confused. It states "Puller mode" position against radiator. Puller mode I'm assuming will go on the rear of the radiator..ie, near the fan clutch, right? So I need to remove the old plastic fan and fan clutch right? Does anyone have a close up picture of their electric fan so I can use for refrence. If so can you also post a picture of how it's wired. Any help would be appreaciated. Randy...(the mechanical Rookie)

What do I do with the A/C..is it worth it
Thanks Fellas, I really do appreciate the advice.

What do I do with the A/C..is it worth it
O.K. I have a really rookie question.... What happens after you remove the compressor in terms of the fan belt? I want to start this weekend, but didn't know how removing the system alters the belt....am I making any sense. Thanks,

What do I do with the A/C..is it worth it
Thanks for the info, If I do pull the a/c is it as simple as just unbolting everything? Will there be holes to fill, etc.

What do I do with the A/C..is it worth it
Well, Since I'm still having problems with overheating I took a big leap today and decided to order a new 3 row radiator, oem thermostat, hoses, and a 14" electric fan with sensor which brings up a whole new set of issues.... Should I keep the A/C or pull it out of the car. I can hear the compressor kick in, but of course it needs a charge. Since I bought the car last fall I have never charged the a/c so I'm not 100% sure that it works. Since I'm going to be replacing all the above mentioned items should I just go ahead and remove the a/c system or leave it alone. If I get the system charged, do they even cool the cabin enough anyway? My car is just a weekend driver and I don't think I would ever use the air anyway. Is it any big deal to remove the system? Here are a few pictures of the unit...(I think) I'm sure it's an aftermarket system so is there any value to leaving it in or out. Thanks for any input. Randy

If anyone has any info on driving w/o a thermo with a 240 I would like to hear it. I was thinking I might pull mine off just to see if it still overheated. Would that be a worth while test to conduct???? Any harm??

Many thanks for the input.....quick question though. If I go electric on the fan, which is about $125.00, would this eliminate the fan clutch? In other words if your going electric do you remove your old clutch, plastic blades, and shroud? A new fan clutch alone is $89.00, so why not go electric...(Can you tell I'm not much of a mechanic) Also in regards to some of the questions asked. * I do have a/c but never turn it on * I am running stock SU's, and was going to order the 170 Tstat OEM * The 2 row radiator seems to be fine, no dirt, bugs etc....The 240 is very, very clean and "refurbished" so I hate to replace the radiator if the 2 row will work with a new OEM tstat and electric fan, or new clutch. Thanks again

Hey guys, Thanks for the info. When the car is moving the gauge stays right at half way, but at the stop lights and idleing it moves to that 3/4 mark. Also, it's not an OEM thermo....I know, I know, I need to get one. I didn't realize the 20% difference. I'm not really sure what you guys mean by a "shroud" Could you let me know what this is, any pics? Also If I wanted a three row whats the best place and price to get one from. Thanks again folks....

Hey guys, I ran the 240 today on a 30 mile ride, and as some of you know I recently flushed the radiator and put in a new 180 t-stat....(couldn't find a 160). Anyway at several red lights I snapped these pictures of the temp gauge and wanted to know if this would be a normal reading. The last photo is after I had been sitting for at least 2 minutes. Is this still too hot, or do some of you get these readings. Thanks for any info.. Randy

Mud guards? Yes or No?
I vote No as well, but if you like them thats all that matters. I think your car looks too good to add those.

Radiator Flush problem
Yea, I knew that it didnt need to come out all the way, but I thought any sludge would come out better if it was all the way off. Did get it though.... Thanks for the tip on the hose also.
