Radiator Flush problem
Hey guys, First, let me say that I am not the sharpest knife in the drawer when it comes to mechanics, but this has me puzzled. I went to flush my radiator just a few seconds ago, and the drain plug on the bottom of the radiator is a plastic wing turn screw. I turn it and it drains the fluid, but it doesnt come completley out....why? How can I flush it if it stays in the hole. There are two metal screw plugs that I thought were drain plugs, but when I took them out nothing happend, no drainage. The only way to drain is to loosen the plastic wing nut, but again it just comes loose and drains, but wont come off. Am I doing something wrong......Help please. PS...73 240Z

I posted in the Help forum about my heat issues and it was suggested that I shouldnt be running a 190 thermostat...(Thanks Carl) I have checked with Courtsey, BD, and MS and cant find anything in the 160 range. Where can I get a 160 or 170 thermostat?? Thanks, Randy

Fan clutch question
Thanks guys, I was thinking about going electric, now may be the time. Carl, thanks for the input. Yes I did right the wrong so to speak, I took the old thermostate out which was stuck full open, so I'm assuming thats why I was always running cold. Why I put in a 190???.....because I didn't pay attention when I ordered it and thats what was sent. Stupid mistake, I know. I'll change out to a 160 and see if that fixes the problem. Thanks again.

Fan clutch question
I took the 240 out today and noticed that the temp was a little high, 3/4 the way over, mainly at idle (a long red light). I have always had the opposite in that before the temp would never go past 120-130. Three months ago I replaced the thermostate with a courtsey nissan 190, everything seemed fine until today, when I hit about 220 or so on the gauge. I searched the forum and noticed alot of post about the fan clutch, one post said that if you can turn the fan blades with ease at normal operating temperture then somethings wrong with your clutch. Well, I can turn the fan blades very easy, with no effort at all when the engines hot, does this mean I need a new fan clutch? Any advice would be appreaciated. Randy

Passenger side door window..See photos
I have no clue what to do about the window on the passenger side. I heard a "clunk" while driving today, so when I got home I pulled the door panel and BAM...the window goes slidding down....didn't break however. There were two pieces just barely hanging on, the bolts were almost completly out and they were just dangling....(PO I assume did this) I went ahead and removed them and took the pictures of them. I pulled the window back up all the way and have it proped it up with one of the "arms". I was going to try and put everything back, and even after consulting Wick and Hanes, I have no clue. I have sat out here and rolled the window up and down to try and see how it functions, but can't figure it out. Could someone please tell me how this works. Here are a few pictures of the door and the window proped with one of the arms. Guys, I'm no master restorer, so forgive me for not using the correct termonology of these parts. Any help would be apreaciated. Thanks, Randy

Door gap after weatherstripping
Thanks guys, Spent most the day on Sat. trying to get the doors right.....score.... Randy 0 Doors 1 I actually got the rubber from Black Dragon (sorry TBK1) install was easy, but man getting the doors right just SUCKS. With all the rubber out doors are great, they are loose, but flush with car. With this new rubber there is NO WAY to align the door flush, at least I can't figure it out. I'm taking a day off before I start round two. I did go back and read post from the search engine and see that I am not the only one to suffer, oh well maybe tomorrow.

Door gap after weatherstripping
Prior to installing the new rubber, the door closed perfect, now with the new rubber it will close, and yes it hard to close, have to almost slam it, but once it's closed there is a huge gap that you can put your fingers in. I don't think silicone will help the gap. I just can't understand why the new rubber is causing such a huge gap in the door.....

Door gap after weatherstripping
Hey guys, Yes, I'll do a search later, but I'm right in the middle of this project and was hoping for a quick answer. I installed new weatherstripping on the passenger side, and when I close the door I have a huge gap....I can get at least two fingers in the gap. Before I placed the new rubber the door closed perfectly. What's the best resolution to my problem. I'm assuming the same will happen when I move to the drivers side. Thank, Randy

A better change..before and after
Here is a shot of the 240 the first day I received the car off the the transport truck, bought sight unseen...only pictures and p.o. description. And here it is today, more original and much more pleasing to the eye...IMO... Still more to do but it gets better everyday. Randy

Stripes are on...went with White
Hey Doug, Thanks, and your right I need to stick these in the gallery, problem is I don't know how. I will try and figure it out today, I think there's a help topic on the gallery. Rome is not that far away, I may just buzz down there, is there an internet site for more information. I took the TR6 to the GAP, or "dragon" as some call it, for some top down twisty fun last weekend. Regards, Randy
