  1. Well, I finally got the steelies back on the 240 today, I think it looks much better. I'll be getting rid of the wheels and tires that were on it if anyone has an intrerest. Here's a before and after picture. Also here's some pictures of the wheels I'll be selling, look in the classifieds for more info, or shoot me PM. On a side note my B-quiet will be here tomorrow so hopefully I'll get the interior done this week. I'll post some pics when I'm done. Take care all. Randy

Sooooo, any pictures of the triplets???
  3. PM sent, Thanks Mike, and your right I must be color blind, my old one is more orange than red.
  4. Scratch the OEM replacement. The Nissan service manager called me today to say they have been removed and are no longer available. He said they are still in the computer system and apoligized for the confusion. So I'm back to square one. If anyone has two center Z's for the hubcaps I'll buy them.
  5. Mike, That was your post I was looking at, man what a job it looked perfect. I hope to be putting mine in next Thurday, hope it turns out as well as your's.
  6. Thanks Gary, I'll let you know how it turns out. Was your car the yellow one I found during a search? It looked good. Randy
  7. I ordered the B-Quiet Ultimate to line my floors and doors. My carpet came today, however the B-Quiet won't be here until next week. Once I install the B-Quiet do I just lay the carpet over it, or tach it down. Also does there need to be a barrier between the carpet and the B-Quiet? Any hints or tips would be appreaciated. Thanks, Randy
  8. Arne, Thanks for the reply, I just called Nissan and they are still available. They are $26.92 a piece. Wow, I could almost buy another set of restorable hubs for the cost of two new centers, but at least they are still available. Thanks...
  9. Is there an OEM replacement for the red Z that goes into the original hubcaps? Or whats the best way of finding these. I got a nice restorable set of covers, but need two center "Z" Thanks, Randy

Hey folks, I would just like to know what some of you are using on your 240 for oil and filter, and what kind of gas you are using, 87,89,93 octane. I am not asking what is the "best" I just want to know from you all that have owned 240's for awhile what your using. I have no clue what I'm going to use yet as my car has only been here 1 week, so any feedback would be appreaciated. Thanks, Randy

Could you not part it out and get more $$$$? If it were a 240 I'd be there tomorrow. Good luck with the sale.
  12. Man, like the PGA.....You Guys Are Good!! After I saw the Vin plate at 9/72 I thought "maybe there's a chance" anyway thanks for the info.
  13. In another thread someone had asked me the question about "roundtop or flattop" I know the 73's carbs were crap, and the current carbs on my 1973 are the "better" ones, but could they be original? My car is titled as a 73, and the vin plate shows 9/72, so could these be the original carbs, or do you think they were replaced. I would think if it was being sold as a 73 it couldnt have the older carbs, or am I wrong....just curious.
  14. Here's some pics of the door, whats it look like to you guys. Thanks, Randy PS...my new shifter boot went on very easy thanks to the search feature that led me to the install process.
  15. I just got the car Wednesday, so I'm not sure about the door history. I'll try and post a photo later today, maybe that will lend a clue. Thanks, R....
  16. Hey guys, I tried everything to get the door to close better, but I think it may be more serious. I took the striker plate completely off and the door still will not go flush with the body. The top looks good, maybe a little tight where the chrome around the window is, but the bottom of the door when shut I can almost get my fingers between it and the car.....Hmmmmm. Do ya'll think maybe the hinges are bent? Is the door crooked, or warped? This is all new to me. Is it hard replacing hinges, or might I need a new door. Any thoughts.... Thanks, Randy
  17. ok, Ive got a newbie question......what are "flat tops", sorry I havent learned all the slang and lingo yet......You may stop laughing now..
  18. Thanks guys, I'll be trying these tips out later.
  19. The drivers side door on my 73 240 closes fine but it's not a tight seal, in otherwords it's closed, but it still looks like its not shut all the way. Whats the best way to adjust this? I cleaned everything and it helped with the passenger door as it now closes perfectly, but I can't get the drivers side to close all the way. Thanks for any input. Randy
  20. Thanks folks, I did find some hubs, but no radio yet...and I'm not sure what these wheels are, but they are coming off as I want the original's on. I just finished ripping out all the carpet and had a HUGE surprise....The original diamond pattern vinyl was underneath the carpet in PERFECT condition, I couldn't believe it. I'll post some more photos as I go along the "refurb". PS, heres the diamond that lay underneath, just needs a little cleaning
  21. Well, The transport truck called me last night at 10:30 pm to see if I wanted my car now or wait until in the morning.......of cousre I said bring it now. Here are a few pictures of how it looked this morning. I have done nothing to the car yet, but that all changes today. I want to get it back to a more original 240. Since I bought this car over the internet with only pictures I was very anxious about the condition, to my relief it was better than I expected. It's a 1973, original color, very little rust, none on frame rails. Floors are about 95% with just the passanger side needing a little attention. Car has lived in Texas and now will reside in Tennessee. The wheels are coming off this week as I have the originals and waiting on the hubs. All the carpet is coming out and the vinyl diamnond pattern will be put back in. Engine runs great, I drove it maybe 20 miles home last as I had to meet the transport at a well lite exit, and the car ran wonderful. Well, I could ramble on and on, but here are some photos. I will be posting very soon as I'm sure I will have many, many questions during my refurbishing. Randy
  22. Thanks Gary, and Jim I sent you an email.
  23. Uh Oh.......I already painted mine flat black.....hmmm, maybe that will be my primer coat. Thanks for the info.
  24. Hey Carl, I used "Krylon rust tough flat black". After I cleaned all the wheels, I used my compressor to blow out the small seams, you wouldn't believe all the "hidden" residue that came out. These were given two coats, and I may add a third, but I did all 4 wheels with one can.
  25. Hey Ian, Let me know, doesnt matter if its working or not. Thanks, Randy Thanks for the suggestions also to everyone else.
