  1. Sorry, I should have given more detail. It is the piece that holds the brake lines to the firewall and sides. I believe it has two screw openings and a rubber piece in between.
  2. I searched the site but came up empty in terms of finding this part, it looks to be NLA. My question is what is a suitable alternative to use. Although I consider my car restored, I'm not into the concours thing so changing on this item will not be the end of the world. What have some of you guys used, or if you fabricated your own make me some........I have a paypal account. Thanks, Randy
  3. FYI......I found some hose today at NAPA. It is fuel/oil rated and 5/8 ID. My receipt says the part is NBH H-183. I went ahead and got 5 feet of hose, cost was $7.59 I won't be winning any concours events, but thats ok with me.
  4. Thanks Mike, that would be great.
  5. Thanks Arne, I'll try NAPA, everywhere else I have looked doesn't carry a oil/gas rated hose in that large of a diameter.
  6. Found the cables, but still need the hose and a series 1 radio......Anyone?
  7. Where did you get the brake line clips, or holders......not really sure what they are called but they look great. I need some for my car but have never found a source. Car is looking great, and this has turned into a very resourceful thread. Keep up the good work.
  8. Hey guys, Does anyone know where I can buy the following: 1.The three heat/vent control cables 2. The hose from the air cleaner to the valve cover (5/8 ID I think) Would this hose need to be a gas/oil grade? 3. A series 1 radio, doesnt matter if it's working or not, I just want to keep the correct look on the inside. If anyone can help me out let me know. Thanks, Randy
  9. Thanks for the tip. You see now why I have a mechanic......:stupid:
  10. Well, I have a small problem. I don't have any of the hoses to go by, I thought the mechanic had them in a box but they are gone. Does anyone know the sizes I would need? I know I need every hose that goes on the air cleaner. Also, after the air cleaner has its hoses where else should I look for any vacuum leaks. I've tried to look at high res photos of some original series 1 cars but didnt know if there may be something lower that I'm missing. Would a vaccume leak cause the engine to lose power under load? It starts and revs wonderful, but as soon as you give it some gas (under load) it wants to "miss" and lose power. Before my mechanic moved he said he took it up and down the street and it ran great.......When that drive took place the air cleaner wasnt even on, and now that everything is on it wants to hesitate and lose power. Thanks for any help on hose size or mechanical input.
  11. Thanks fellas, I wasn't going for points so I will just run by NAPA. Thanks for the input.
  12. Hey guys, I've been away for a few months, to be honest after almost two years of restoring my low vin 240 I simply just burned out. It got to the point where if the shop said "oh, another 4-6 weeks" I just said fine.....I was over it and just put it out of my mind for a while. Last week they called and said they would be dropping it off to me so I could finish the interior and have the mechanic finish up the tuning. The problem is the guy who was doing it is gone, so I have to finish it or find someone else. The car starts and runs great, but it's still missing the air cleaner black hoses, and it seems there are severeal vacuum leaks. Where can I find the hoses (or are they generic hoses at the any auto parts store). I also broke my ankle last Friday and had surgery yesterday so I can't get mobile for a while, no weight bearing for 6 weeks. I can try and post some engine pictures next week but if anyone has a source for the hoses or where to check for vacuum leaks let me know. I looked at black dragon and MSA but didn't see the air cleaner hoses. Thanks folks, Randy PS.....if I misspelled anything remember I'm on pain meds......
  13. Jared, I dropped by the shop on Friday and saw your car sitting on the floor. It looks fantastic, the pictures are great but to see it up close and "gasp" touch it was pretty cool. I spent 10 mins just drooling on your engine (Skip had a mop). The interior looked like it did when they rolled it off the ship, very nice job on keeping it original. Looking forward to hearing that beast fire up one day. Take care, Randy
  14. Many thanks fella's.......
  15. Hey guys, I took these off 797 and want to sell them but have no idea what they are called. If anyone knows please let me know so I can write a description in the classifieds. Many Thanks, Randy

Thanks guys, Yes, it is shall we say......colorful..... So far I'm very happy with the results, and the kit Les sells at Classic Datsun is quality stuff. The trimming is a bit tricky, so just go slow. I'll throw up some more pictures later next week, I'm out of town this week so no new progress till I get back on Sunday. Take care guys, Mally

I thought about that, but the old panels were so brittle I couldn't really get a good tracing. Also a few were cracked at the edges and I was afraid I would be off too much. The trimming is a pain in the butt, but it worked out fine. Just took forever because you have to do small amounts then trial fit and then repeat 4,000 times more..........:tapemouth But in the end it worked out fine. Here's a few pictures. PS....The doglegs actually match perfectly, but for some reason look lighter in the pictures. Nothing is in permantly, just basically psedo fitted.
  18. Glad to hear......How about some pictures.

Thanks Julio, I did the right side last night. Using some tin snips I was able to take off small amounts at a time until the fit was correct. I still had a few issues with one panel, but you can barely see the mistake I made........:stupid: It seems the fitment is way off only on the rear and two speaker panels, the smaller panels appear to line up better. Hopefully I will be done today and can post some pictures. Thanks again for the tip, Randy

Hey guys, Has anyone ordered new plastic panels for their 240. I got the entire kit from Les but every piece is bigger than the original. I'm sure it will crack if I try and force it. The rivet holes are off also, and if I force it......CRACK..... If anyone has installed new panels and can help me out please let me know. Thanks, Randy

Thanks for the tips, I'll try the resin this weekend and see how it turns out. Andrew, if I screw it up I would be very interested in the skins.

My hardwood backs have some contour to them and wasn't sure how to duplicate it, or if it is even necessary. Would the door panels fit on the door correctly if they are a solid straight piece.

Hey guys, I searched around and found many post regarding door panels, but nothing that really addressed the backing. I have these beautiful door skins from Les but my backing is feeling pretty weak. I know in the past some were thinking about doing these in fiberglass or some other type material and was wondering if anyone came up with anything. Also, is there a way to take the current panels and some how reinforce them or give them some added support where some pices of the hard board have broken off or are flimsy. Thanks for any input. Randy

Of course it had to be in Tennessee.........:stupid:
  25. Wow, your right it's a mess. They have me listed as having a 72 model, which I've never owned; and have #797 listed with another owner and showing wrong color, engine #, build date, etc. Looks like a lot of the information got scrambled.........
