Classic car insurance
Another vote for Hagerty! I was paying USAA over $281 dollars annually for a 29 year old motorcycle that I might put 500 miles a year on at most. Hagerty covered it for $55 bucks a year.

Air Cleaner refreshed
Looks good in the picture. How difficult was it to remove the carburetor gaskets and long black seals? I'm going to do the same thing with mine, but spray clear over the decals to prevent peeling.

Another interesting auction
The gavel fell on this one for a cool $36,000 on BaT. http://bringatrailer.com/listing/1976-datsun-280z-3/

Decoding the body plates??
You won't find it there. The exterior color code is a foil decal on the radiator support. As for the interior color, there is no identifier.

Another interesting auction
Even this very lightly modified 280Z is bringing good money on BaT: http://bringatrailer.com/listing/1976-datsun-280z-3/

Another interesting auction
Sold for $29,250. That's pretty good coin for a restomod.

Another interesting auction
Probably serious bidders are laying low ready to pounce in the seconds of the auction.

selling a 240Z for estate - please help
My very first 240Z when at 16 years old was the same color. It had vinyl roof and was an automatic The car looks to be in very good order. Not the most desirable color, but the modifications are tastefully executed. I suggest looking at what comparable 240Zs sold for on Bring a Trailer, and base your selling price accordingly. http://bringatrailer.com/search/240z/ In fact, you may want to consider placing the car up for auction on BaT. It will get good exposure and the scrutiny from a knowledgeable community.

Z's dominate this list...
I agree! And spare parts should be cheap and plentiful

Mystery Engine Noise
For starters, I would invest in one of these: http://www.harborfreight.com/catalogsearch/result?q=stethoscope From the sound of it, there could be a loose component like a exhaust heat shield causing the noise. I had a mystery rattle at around idle to about 2,000 rpm from the engine bay of my Honda. It turned out to be the plastic grommet broke loose from the base of my hood prop rod that attached to the fender.

We all got duped!
#10 answers the reason for the unoccupied stripper pole in the showroom. The "hostess" must have been in back with a customer showing off the aftermarket options package.

Nissan Factory restoration cars
I wouldn't accept the car if given to me for the mere fact that both air cleaner wingnuts are not in the 3 and 9 o'clock position

Nissan Factory restoration cars
Here are few photos of another example from the MSA show in 2002. If memory serves me correctly, the car was for sale for around 22-24K

Car SOS SO4E04 Datsun 240Z
I'm not OCD enough to overly examine and find fault with the vehicle To me, the story of a gentleman being rewarded for a lifetime of helping others by restoring something he cherished is what I took away from watching it. Regardless whether it is a 240Z or a Yugo.

Interesting Historical Information Indicating Z was for US Market
この「サーフアイランダース」は、阿部氏の声掛けて近年再結成され、ライブ活動をされているとのこと。 Nissan had a house band called the "Young Nights" that would play at corporate parties? That would have been quite the sight

Why use a Z car as a sign of danger in an add?
I'm assuming the person who came up with the ad was thinking a Datsun Z would be an more ominous presence than an AMC Pacer.

Classic car insurance
To receive BBB accreditation, a business pays an annual dues based on the location and number of employees . Perhaps in the case of Hagerty, they have not chosen to pursue it. I believe it is more of a marketing decision rather than a ploy. The business model of BBB is to give a customer a venue to advertise their service and leverage BBB's 77% consumer brand recognition and its search engine optimization services. http://www.bbb.org/greater-maryland/for-businesses/about-bbb-accreditation/ "BBB accreditation does not mean that the business’s products or services have been evaluated or endorsed by BBB, or that BBB has made a determination as to the business’ product quality or competency in performing services. Businesses are under no obligation to seek BBB accreditation, and some businesses are not accredited because they have not sought BBB accreditation."

Hopefully you won't have to file a claim with Infinity. https://www.expertinsurancereviews.com/insurance-company-reviews/infinity-insurance-review/ " Infinity takes a big hit in terms of reputation right off the bat when we pull up the BBB record for the company. The rating from the BBB is a dismal D, which is really low for a major insurer. It might, in fact, it’s one of the worst ratings I’ve seen for a large insurance company – or one of any size. " I use Hargerty, who fares much better overall. https://www.expertinsurancereviews.com/insurance-company-reviews/hagerty-insurance/ " Hagerty is not BBB accredited, but they do have an A+ rating. There are only a total of four complaints in the past three years, and there have been no complaints in the past year. For a big insurance company, these numbers are very impressive. "
