  1. This is a very nice example and I hope it commands a fair price! I have to say that I am disappointed and not surprised by some of the negative comments. There is significant amount of nitpicking of faults and pointing out of “non-original” aspects of this automobile. Having been a member of this forum for over a dozen years, sadly little has changed. There seems to be a prevailing tendency to over-criticize a vehicle and swiftly pass judgment. This type of attitude is the reason that I rarely visit this site, and have kept my over three decades and half a dozen 240Zs of experience to myself. I use to post often in the beginning, but seen this site really go downhill over the years. Perhaps this pointing out of faults is some type of therapy and display of passive aggressiveness to make one feel better about their inferior vehicle to the one to posted on the forum for public scrutiny. Take a moment to step back and enjoy to vehicle for what it is. Sure it is not a Uber Grand Master Gold Medallion winner or whatever. Nonetheless, it is a fine car and its sale will help increase respect to the cars make well all hold so dear. Rant over!
  2. Here my 3rd Z pictured back in the 1986:
  3. I would have bought the car just so I could put those front bumper guards right side up.
  4. I'm sorry to hear of Enrique's passing. My thoughs and best wishes go out to his family. Though I never met him personally, we probably contributed on a few of Z car threads over the years. We've lost a few good forum members over the years. I can still remember when Carl Stahlnecker (Bambikiller240), a familiar fixture here, died back in 2006. God's blessings and welcome home, E.

  6. I live in Lompoc and on my 5th 240Z. I see about a half dozen 240Z and 280Z cars in town.
  7. Merry Christmas to all and best hopes for a great 2013! The new year will start on a good note for us California classic and vintage car owners: http://blogs.sacbee.com/capitolalertlatest/2012/05/california-assembly-replica-license-plates-assembly-bill-1658.html

Can you also ask about the mysterious vanishing choke handle Some of the interior shots show the choke handle missing, then it makes an appearence.

    Thanks for the information.

That is a wonderful example and the right color too I hope this question will not be taken as being nitpicky, but rather trying to get my facts straight. Is the rear muffler on the vehicle original? All the 240Z's I recall with original rear mufflers were chrome tipped. Most of them were painted black and were manufactured for NIssan in Japan by Nichira. It's hard to see, but I posted an example below.
  11. I have a few shots of my car in the gallery. Albeit, nothing newer than a decade ago. I still have the car sitting on blocks waiting for retirement to come alon so I can start restoring it. http://www.classiczcars.com/photopost/showgallery.php?ppuser=2033&username=datsunzguy

This looks like a sharp looking car that happens to be the same year, color and wheel combo as mine. It would be nice to have a twin :classic: I'm not affiliated with the ad or seller. http://sfbay.craigslist.org/pen/cto/3333925633.html
  13. I stopped by Les' shop a few years ago to purchase a carpet and seat set. He appeared to be a one person operation and by the look of all the projects he had in various stages of completion, a very busy guy. I'm sure he'll get back to you, but it won't be like waiting to get a callback from MSA.
  14. One data point that might be useful is to use the Advanced search feature on ebay and select Completed auctions as one of your search criteria.
  15. Thicker steel for the body and 20 more stock horsepower. Styled steel wheels or mags with fatter, lower profile tires to finish it off.

Best wishes and hope you drop in more often than I do to check on things. If you decide to go with a 2nd Generation MR2 or 1988 Honda Magna, I may see you on another forum
  17. Interesting car, but IMHO a 30K price range would be more realistic. A Datsun Z Car with a V-8 is not in the same collector/price category as a say a Boss 429 or Hemi Cuda.
  18. Tracking down a European E41 balance tube would make a clean set up.
  19. you might want to try Courtesy Parts in Texas. http://www.courtesyparts.com/ I was able to purchase a complete NOS exhaust system from the manifold back. Albeit that was a couple of years ago.
  20. 1968 Shelby GT500KR convertable on the H-2 freeway on the Island of Oahu. Top down, of course. 2003 Corvette Z06. We hit about 160 mph on California Hwy1 before we had to slow down to take our exit.
  21. The original rear panel rivets are plastic. Most likely, the previous owner removed and replaced the panel and opted to go with aluminum pop rivets.
  22. You still might be able to order them. The rivets pictured on top are the for the taillight panel, and the one below are your standard interior rivets.

  24. I might be in the minority here, but I believe the mileage stated is accurate, given what the photos show. The original braided upper radiator would an item that would most not likely survive on a vehicle was driven 123,XXX miles and nearly 40 years of age. Not to mention the original radiator clamps.
