Being a former club member from way back in the early 1990's, while stationed at the late Lowry AFB, it puts a smile on my face to know this organization is still going strong. Here's a blast from the past. My Z is the green one.
  2. Here's the rule, according to California DMV: http://www.dmv.ca.gov/pubs/vctop/d03/vc5004_1.htm
  3. Here's a photo of the part I was referring to.
  4. I bought a replacement hose clip back in 2003 that I have in storage. The part number listed is 18762-H7900. Hope this helps.

Yup, SEM trim black would work too. If you can, please post before and after pictures when you're done. I'm sure this won't be the last time the topic is going to pop up.

The best method I found to restore a badly sun-damaged console was to remove it carefully out of the car. Then give it a good scrubbing with a soapy solution. Let it dry for a couple of days and finally spray it with something like Krylon satin clear acrylic.
  7. Hello, You should only have two bumper brackets (one for each side). Hope this photo helps:
  8. Put it in your office break room kitchen. People will think it's a new expresso machine
  9. Here's part of a thread that I contributed to over four years ago (where has the time gone!) showing a comparison to DI seat kits compared to the my orginal seats. As you can see, the grain pattern on the sides of the aftermarket ones are not a deep as the original. http://www.classiczcars.com/forums/showpost.php?p=128080&postcount=5
  10. My 1993 Toyota MR2's steering wheel leather was cracking. I sent it in to American Stitches back in Feb 2005, and had it recovered for $279.00. Sounds like a lot, but the quality of their work was worth it...IMHO. The steering wheel is still holding up great today.
  11. It's also up for auction on ebay as item number 120473777402. There's about 20 additional photos shown on the listing.

  13. Tom, I did a Google search and came accross an XML file on this VIN that stated the following: 1970 HLS30-02126 Now L28 03-70 Now 5 Spd 905 Red Black Purchased late 1983 from PierreZ, refresh in 2000....many upgrades and mods, weekend toy! Have you tried contacting Pierre Z and asked if they have any old records on your vehicle? http://www.pierrezcar.com/contact.html
  14. When I took mine off years ago it required a shot of WD-40 and pulling the wheel toward me while rocking it side-to-side.
  15. 1. Check your point gap and dwell if you are still running an original distributor. 2. Check your timing. Good luck!

    This might help: http://www.classiczcars.com/forums/showpost.php?p=202336&postcount=5
  17. I suggest contacting Distinctive Industires in Commerce, CA. I believe they supplied the seat vinyl for the Z Car restoration program years back. They might sell remnant material to you. http://www.distinctiveindustries.com/au.html
  18. Here's a thread on the subject I added my 2 cents on. It has the paint combo I used to restore my tail light panel and front grill. http://www.classiczcars.com/forums/showthread.php?t=13593&highlight=rear
  19. Nice shots! You can never go wrong with a silver 240Z.
  20. Well, the car didn't sell this go around. I'm kind of shocked that the best offer the seller got was $14,100. It might be smart to sit on the car until the economy improves and Americans discover the next bubble.

It looks like part of an electronic ignition system to me.
