Black Dragon Closing
I still recall a time when Black Dragon was Victoria British, Limited, and I would fill out their catalog order form and pay by check sent via snail mail. Even when they went online, ordering using a PDF catalog was kind a hassle, but I still obtained my fair share of parts from them As a consumer, it not a winning proposition when the number of parts supplier dwindle as Z cars seem to be appreciating. Enjoy the bargain hunting while it lasts.

Am selling my little lady to the highest bidder.......
Unfortunately, as I predicted, the reserve was not met. I believe part of the problem is there have been quite a few early Z cars put for auction on eBay as of late. It seems the supply of modified cars are plentiful, while most discriminating buyers are looking for something more stock. My opinion is that most buyers who are willing to spend in the neighborhood 20K or more for a modified mint 240Z would be looking for a vehicle with a Robello Stroker or RB26DETT motor. Also, the more personalized the modifications, the smaller the pool of serious buyers. That said, I would suggest posting a car of this caliber on Hemmings Motor News or Collector Car Trader Online so it targets a more selective audience. Putting the car up for auction on a website like eBay where I can also purchase a 12-pack of tube socks is a disservice to a fine car.

Hello from across the pond! Searching for a 240z
Hi Mark, Nice to see another person who appreciates both the 240Z and MR2 like I do I'm currently restoring the 1972 240Z pictured below. It is a rust-free car with 41,000 original miles and should be out of the paint shop soon. I have more photos of the car in my gallery http://www.classiczcars.com/profile/1276-datsunzguy/?do=content&type=gallery_image&change_section=1 I am kicking around the idea of selling it when done.

IMHO...the low VIN is appealing, but the condition, lack of originality really just not justify the asking price. You'd be out close to 100K to put the vehicle to right.

Need some advice on selling
I would suggest looking into an escrow service to handle the overseas transaction. http://pages.ebay.com/help/pay/escrow.html I'm sure there is a fee involved, but both parties would be protected and have peace of mind.

Need some advice on selling
Congratulations on the sale. I've bought and sold cars over long distances before and the process you described above is pretty normal in my experience. I would at least request a good faith deposit from the buyer and have it written into the bill of sale along with title released upon remaining balance received by wire transfer. Out of curiosity, what is the feedback score of the seller and has the seller purchased large ticket items in the past? Will the car be shipped? The transaction should go smoothly unless you sold the car to a Nigerian prince

Hatch stopper rubber
I purchased a pair as well, but haven't mounted them yet. Nice to know the installation will be simple and straightforward

21st Annual Motorsport Auto Z-Car Show
Yeah, last year was a mess. Unlike previous shows, the street in front of the shop was not blocked off. My understanding this was to avoid paying the city for the approval to do so. It made for an event where you had to search behind back streets and alleys to view the Z Cars on display. I also noticed a lot less vendors than past years.

Most accurate air cleaner decals
The adhesive on decals will breakdown over time and might be a cause of peeling. A quick fix is to apply clear nail polish to the edges of decals right after you apply them. My plan is to apply the decals, then spray the air cleaner box with clear to seal everything in place. Speaking of air boxes, Mike at Banzai Motorworks is again selling orange air cleaner paint in aerosol cans. I just bought some a couple of weeks ago.

The sudden death of my closest friend Enrique Scanlon (EScanlon)
When searching the archives for information, I still find posts from Carl Stahlnecker (a.k.a. Bambikiller), who left us almost 10 years ago. He's another member from the "good old days" of this forum I still miss to this day

240Z Makes Buy-'em-Now List
Be careful what you wish for. The appreciation will be a double-edged sword making NOS and used parts spike in price due to rampant speculation.
