I may be dumb but I'm slow
I would check the inside of the distributor cap for any signs of water condensation, which may have been a result of the engine running after the cleaning. Furthermore, I would keep the cap off and let the car set overnight before trying to start it again.

AMCO Floormats
I too have a set of "240Z" logo rubber floor mats pictured below. http://www.classiczcars.com/photopost/showphoto.php?photo=10097&cat=500&page=1 I seem to recall that the "Z" logo only floor mats came out later for the 260Z and 280Z models. Can anyone else confirm this?

NOS Key for a 1972 240z
During my search for an anti-backfire valve for my ’72, which is also NLA, according to all the US Nissan parts people I have written, I found Mills Nissan in Canada. At least they took the time to quote me a price and were willing to order it from Japan for me. I ended up getting lucky and found a valve on ebay. Perhaps Mills might be able to locate a source in Japan for key blanks. Below is response to my anti-backfire valve part quote request. Thank you for your email. The price on the part would be $91.84 CND. Because it has to be ordered from Japan, it can't be cancelled or returned once ordered. If you would like to order please contact myself directly at (780) 462-6170 or 1-800-813-8817. Thank you, Jay Klaudt Parts Manager Mills Nissan 3333 - 92 Street Edmonton, AB T6N 1B9 Canada

New Member - Hawaii
You've found one of the best sites to help with your Z project. I grew up in Mililani Town on Oa'hu. Here's a photo of my '72 I took back in 1986. http://www.classiczcars.com/photopost/showphoto.php?photo=6118&size=big&cat=500&page=2 I'll be visiting the folks back in Hawaii next week and can't wait to eat some local food again!

Looking for a stock '71-'72 air cleaner
Thanks, Mark... I asked because I have a non-flapper air cleaner, pair of carbs and euro balance tube in storage.

Allow me to introduce myself
Chances are the color that's in your spare tire well is the original color.

California Crackdown on Modified Cars
The linked article below also suggest riders of these large displacement bikes (like Harleys) are dying in significant numbers due to lack of experience. I'm a 13 years rider who is very happy in putting around on my 750 Honda Magna. :squareeye http://news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&u=/usatoday/20050809/ts_usatoday/motorcycledeathsrisesharply "Jeff Rabe, lobbyist for the Modified Motorcycle Association of California, said more "middle-aged executives" are riding powerful machines without training. "There's a huge group of people ages 35 to 50 who have purchased motorcycles," Rabe said. "But they're still beginning riders.""

California Crackdown on Modified Cars
The yellow Z pictured in my second post doesn't belong to me. I just went to my photo album of the '04 ZCCA Meet and posted it as an example. When done, my orange car is going to look stock, but sitting a little lower and wearing ZX six-spoke wheels.

California Crackdown on Modified Cars
the interpretation is very subjective. An officer may pull me over for driving something like this...even if the exhaust is as quiet as a church mouse and I'm doing the speed limit. Heaven forbid I would want the right to install a 240ZG nose kit on my car

California Crackdown on Modified Cars
I'm not a big fan of "Ricers" or street racing, but this is getting a little out of hand! http://www.thenewspaper.com/news/05/576.asp Could you be their next victim?

Z logo plaq on center console?
Thanks guys! I was fortunate to have purchased the car from the non-smoking original owner. Also, the car has 41,558 original miles on the odometer, which helps too.
