Car Show Overdose
I was looking for other members of our board today at the MSA show, but didn’t see any. I had my club t-shirt on (granted I had a dark jacket over it due to the rain) walking around with my wife, Michelle, and English bulldog, Monty. After 2 hours walking around at MSA, and after the soaking, we decided to drive back home. On the way, we stopped in Santa Barbara for a late lunch. We parked the car and proceeded to walk toward State Street (the main street in town). Guess what? Another car show!!! They closed off about 6 blocks and had a variety of rods, muscle car, customs and bikes on display. This included a couple of nice Chip Foose designed cars. The small Nissan/Datsun contingent consisted of a nice Fairlady convertible, 510 coupe and the custom 260z that won the MSA show a couple of years back. My wife fell in love with a little powder blue Austin Healy Bug Eye Sprite. Our dog got a lot off attention, I had a chance to see a bunch of awesome vehicles, and my wife has had her fill of car shows for awhile.

- Scratch Removers
Oops…I completely forgot about the Magna sedan. You must have thought I was crazy crawling under by car to repair a scratch on my highly polished gas tank My ’88 Magna: Sorry to go off topic for a bit. Now back to subject at hand: Scratch Removal.- Scratch Removers
This is the best stuff I have found for scratches. I had some pretty bad ones on the gas tank of my black '88 Honda Magna and the ScratchX took them right out. :cheeky: http://www.meguiars.com/store_meguiars/product_detailpage.cfm?sku=G-103&store=meg- Chrome Rewinds
How did it look and drive? I think the attached photos are of the same car when it was for sale back in August 2002.- Chrome Rewinds
Just for the record, here's what they look like. IMHO they are very sharp looking- Just Brought Home A 72 240z
I'd guess 160 hp at the flywheel/118-120 hp at the rear wheels.- Calling Classic Z Car Club member in LA
Mark, It sounds like Vic is going to take care of inspecting the car for you. I live 3 hours north (Lompoc, CA) and will be driving through LA on April 24th to attend the MSA show in Orange. Just in case you need an alternate- climbing on the roof

Los Angeles or Louisiana?- Z Hubcaps restored and on my Z
Thanks for the kudos, Ben. The hubcaps really look nice mounted on the car.- Great Z story
Great story! Wow...now that's destiny.- Basic 240z education needed
This is a must read: http://zhome.com/- paint problems: steering wheel
A couple of years ago I had pretty good results sanding spokes of a steering wheel to bare metal, masking the faux wood rim and applying a coat of black POR-15. This stuff dries pretty hard and will give powder coat a run for its money, IMO. Then, I wet sanded the wheel to even out some high spots and applied a coat of satin black.- Faithfull brotherhood of all that is Z, guid me in my moment of temptation!
I see you ended it early...bravo! If it ran its natural course, you would have most likely gotten your reserve and more. I noticed the high bidder on your car has been willing to spend at least 14K for a 240Z. I recall the bidder was in the hunt when Burt's silver '71 went on the block a few months ago.- Faithfull brotherhood of all that is Z, guid me in my moment of temptation!
If you are starting to get cold feet, you could exercise your option to call it off. Per your ebay description, "I do reserve the right to end this auction at anytime." Or you could be like me and just get the other vehicle you lust over and increase the size of your stable  http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v650/ed_o/Image001.jpg- Rx7 Seats
I recently purchased some leather paint for my Toyota MR2 from Turtle Feathers. Very fast shipping, great prices and helpful advice from David. http://www.turtlefeathers.com/text/angelus/angelus-main-dye.html- Can you ID these rims?

I assume that the items wrapped up behind it are the bumper mounting brackets. If so, I'm thinking this bumper is for a early 260Z. I attached a large image of the bumper.- another barn car
Yup, there’s a lot of bidding on emotion going on in Scottsdale. Somebody paid over $300,000 for a Ford GT when there’s one on ebay with a BIN price of $215,000. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=4522709632&category=6057 I agree that Burt should put his car up for auction at B-J. Hopefully, it would be put on the block while the television cameras were on and Brock Yates was off eating a chili dog. All it takes is for some rich dude who lost his virginity on prom night in a silver 1971 240Z wanting to rekindle some old memories.- another barn car

I restored a set of "later model" Z hubcaps. http://www.classiczcars.com/photopost/showphoto.php?photo=11144&sort=1&cat=500&page=1 Here is what I used: Dupli-Color High Performance Wheel Coating – HWP102 Rust-Oleum Painter’s Touch Multi-Purpose Paint – 1902 Matte Clear. And of course...many hours of masking - Scratch Removers
