73 240Z Choke Problem
I looked in my Haynes manual and it looks like they are the stock carbs (There are two carbs with little black caps for putting oil in). (They don't have a butterfly). They have what looks like a piston that just moves up and down. When I pull the choke handle the cables move but the engine doesn't act any different and won't start any easier. What should I be looking for? When it's really cold my battery will usually die before I can get the car started.

73 240Z Choke Problem
I don't know much about carbs. I'll have to take a picture. The guy I bought it from had the carbs fixed up before I bought it.

73 240Z Choke Problem
I'm not sure what's going on so I thought I'd come to the experts. My car has a hard time starting (especially when it's cold) and when I choke up the engine it seems to make no difference. Should it be noticable? While I'm trying to start it or even once I get the car up and going moving the choke cable does nothing. I've traced it back to the carbs and everything seems to be moving ok so the cables aren't broken. Thanks for your help!

1973 240Z Electrical Problem?
UPDATE: I repaced the fuses and the dash lights come on. The problem now comes when I turn my blinker on. When I make a right hand turn the blinker light won't flash and all the dash lights go out. I have noticed sometimes I can wiggle the wiper switch and the lights come back on. Anyone else ever had this problem? I'm in the process now of replacing the fuse block. Any idea why the lights go out when I turn the blinker on? Thanks guys!

Where to start
I personally would start on one you don't intend to keep. Running through a couple of dummies it will be old hat by the time you get to your keeper and you'll feel alot better about your job. BTW, I'm by no means an expert. Just my opinion

Speedometer Cable Install
I bought a cable because the guy I bought the car from said it was bad and that I would need to install a new one. I'm assuming the cable has to go through the fire wall? If so where does it go through?

Speedometer Cable Install
Hey everybody! I'm installing a speedometer cable tomorrow and not sure what the process is. (To be honest I'm not sure if there is no speedometer cable at all, or if it's just broken) Has anyone had experience installing one of these and if so, do you have any pointers? Thanks for your help.

Dimmer Switch Location? 73 240Z
Where in the world is the dimmer switch on a 73 240Z? I can't find it anywhere. Also, if anyone has any idea, I have two pull knobs under the dash on both sides... any idea what those are??

Fuse Block Help Please
I was having problems with my interior lights and parking lights saying on. A nice member mentioned to check the fuse block. After I started digging around in there I noticed the fuse block had melted. That's really no surprise from what I hear. Here's the crazy thing: A previous owner had used wood glue to hold the melted fuse block together! Obviously now I need a new fuse block. Can anyone here recommend where I can find a new fuse block? My car is a 1973 240z. I have seen that some people sell an "updated" fuse block with the new style fuses (but they seem expensive). Has anyone used one of these? Any suggestions one where to buy an orginal? Thanks to everyone for helping me out!

1973 240Z Electrical Problem?
I just got a 73 240Z and I'm having a problem with the interior lights. The dash lights sometimes cut off when the following things happen: Hit a hard bump Turn on the left blinker Just randomly More often than not it will just randomly cut off.. they will eventually come back on. When the lights go out the orange choke light will come on. One thing to note: The previous owner installed a CD player and it works great and always stays powered on while the rest of the dash lights go out. I am new to all this and really do appreciate any help anyone can give.
