Bad news indeed. I know I was pulling for it to be genuine. Now you can build the beast without concern for the pedigree though. Good luck with your build!

    Thanks! Just what I needed.

Does anyone know the bore spacing on an F54 or N42 block (center of cylinder to center of cylinder)? I assume all the l24/l26/l28 blocks have the same spacing, is this correct?

How are the 240K and KGC110 panels different? I have a rear panel I got from Japan and it looks identical to the Datsun one. I also have a spare rear "Skyline" line badge. Currently painting it to match the black GTR style that is on my car.

Thanks for the link, the photos look great. Post some pictures of the Z when you can. Hope to see you out at some of the shows. Couple of people at the show gave me cards for shops in that area. Don't remember where you said you lived, but I'm sure the Z guys on this board can help you out.

Great car. Looking forward to seeing it at JCCS. I'm jealous, it has a lot of the bits I'm looking for. Chris

Lachlan, no offense intended. The detail I was thinking was things like part numbers and any id markings on the back of parts. Things like that. I only note this because I have seen many parts listed for certain type of car, but have totally different part numbers. I have also seen similar parts that look different, but have the same part number. Also some of the posts, again not just yours, group many parts together and don't separate individual items, i.e. all the different emblems needed for the car. Yours and other posts have been truly valuable and are virtually the only source currently on the web. Please keep it up, your help is indeed appreciated and necessary. I give my thanks to everyone that is apart of this board and helps keep these cars alive. Chris

That's Brian's old car right? Didn't he sell it after buying Ray's white one. Well least that's what I think after looking at a few post's on the boards. Thankfully my car came with alot of the GT-R parts already on it. Getting the parts for a GT-R clone is tough. I'm not going for 100% correctness, just the GT-R flavor. Right now I'm struggeling with the rear quarter GT badge. Of course the tail light rings are the real holy grail. Last pair I saw were $2000. Little steap for me right now. Let me know when you get the 240K. I'd like to see it. PM if you have any questions, I'd like to trade notes on any research into the GT-R. Might be nice to start a thread with part numbers and the like. Alfadog's posts are really good, but more detail would be really helpful. I'm free most weekend's so PM me if you want to meet up and see the car. I'd like to see your R32 sometime. Chris

Southbay Did you get a 240K yet? Seems there has been a few for sale lately. I've been thinking about getting a classic skyline run together. Seems there is enough in LA that we should all be able to get together at some point. It would be really cool to have a big display at JCCS.

Hey that's my car. Oh yah, I was there.... Just glad I could bring the car out and let a few people see it. Mat, were you at the show? A couple people said you had sold your blue car? Too bad if that's the case. Would have been cool to have two at the show. I'll be bringing it out to JCCS this year in Long Beach so if you'er there stop by and introduce yourself. Chris

Todd, I'm here in the US, California, and definitely interested in your axle kits. I have a GC111 Skyline which is the Japan version of the Datsun 240K. If you send me the pic with the dimensions that you need I can measure up mine and see if your kit will work. I might also be able to pull my half shaft and send it to you. Little less cost than having one of the mates in Oz send one. Email is ctcurnes@yahoo.com Chris
  12. Oil gauge works fine. Needle is straight up at anything over 3000 rpm. I took it on a 300 mile round trip on the weekend. Ran really strong at highway speeds (80-85mph). Carbs needed to be tweaked but otherwise everything else is fine. Couldn't be more happy with the car. Got a whole lot of looks and everybody wanted to know what it was. With not many of these beasties in the States, you spend a lot of extra time in parking lots and gas stations talking to people about the car. That's way cool that they generate that much intrest.
  13. Thanks for the input guys. I thought is was strange to call it a boost gauge if all it does is measure vaccum. I don't want to pull the dash apart just to track down where the lines run to. Maybe if I switch over to the brushed metal look instead of the fake wood grain I'll take a look at the back side. Dispite the tempting offers, I think I'll keep the stearing wheel for now.
  14. Trying to find out a little more about the 1977 GC111 I just got. The dash has a boost gauage (far right side of panel next to speedo). Gauge is marked boost and just above the needle reads "DRIVE". From looking on the web, i thought the GC211 was the first style for the turbo EFI motor. My car was modified in Japan with triple DCOE carbs, but the EFI harnes remains in the car. Any help or comments......

  16. I think you buddy is talking about me. I just bought the silver 77 Kenmeri GTR clone that was on ebay. I have been looking through this forum and I'm amazed at the wealth of knowledge availabel. It's good to have some where to turn when I have questions about the car.... and I will have questions. When I picked it up from Brian, he had commented that many people had already heard he had the car sold. It's nice to know that there are plenty of people out there just as passionate as me about these classics. And it is RHD. Chris
