Where is Innovator Z?
Maybe I missed something, but I just bought something off their web-site and the only two options are 'pay by phone' and 'pay by mail'. I chose phone, completed my order and immediately got an e-mail directing me to call them--and a number. Knowing full well it is 10:30 or even 11:30 PM there, I called. Number 'disconnected' with no forwarding number. Looked on the site and found another number. Also not in service. Huh? steve

Rear Maxima brackets?
Yeah, I am aware of the AZ and MM models, also Tom Holt has a drawing (a machine-shop ready document) of a bracket that uses a very reasonable Wilwood caliper. It is on his FP-Z site. Does anyone know offhand which Wilwood matches the ZX caliper? Should be easy enough to find in the catalogue, though. The single piston Wilwoods are very reasonable. steve

Carb damping oil? Flow guide valve ?
I have been following some of these carb conversations with great interest, as have just bought my first set. Do Mikuni's have this dampening oil mechanism? Just looking at them it doesn't seem like it. Sorry so ignorant, I just never realized SU's had oil in them for this well-but simply-engineered function. steve

Rear Maxima brackets?
I heard a rumour recently: The mid-80's Maxima has the same rear hub and everything as the 1st gen Z and also rear disks. The obvious point of this rambling is there is a rear disk brake bracket that bolts onto the rear hub. Can anyone confirm this and if it is true: A. What disks are used? What is the 'offset'? Is it the ZX rear disk? Maxima only disk? 240SX disk? B. What caliper is used. What is the Wilwood equivalent? steve

MSA Stainless Steel Brakes Hoses
Carl, the camera is at the gallery until Tuesday and Porterfield does not have photos on their site--only a list. But here is a good photo with a company I have also bought SS brake stuff from. The pages are not 'address-specific', so you will have to click BRAKE FITTINGS and a nice picture of the -3AN version pops up on the top right side above 'Female Bulkhead Adaptors'. http://www.purechoicemotorsports.com/ steve

MSA Stainless Steel Brakes Hoses
OK, here is exactly what it costs to make up your own set, as I just received today in the mail a full set from Porterfield. They are XRP brand, have the little paper sitckers stating "Not for Street use" and are made in England. 4- 15" -4 straight to -4 straight hoses ($12.78) 1- 12" -4 straight to -4 straight hose (clutch) ($11.87) 10- -4 male to 10X1.0 Female inverted flare connectors ($10.14/pr) $88.00 plus about $16 tax and shipping. steve

Aaarrrrgh
If I were Australian, I would sue. It is really REALLY bad here, as Victor mentions. How about "Fosters. Australian for beer." There's another one here besides Outback Steak House--I forget the name, but same horrible marketing. I guess we think Australians are cute. Here's something that makes up for a multitude of marketing sins and tacky exports, though:Nice export (sorry, can't get it to 'host') steve

Engine sizes
Dragon, if you are serious, and still in the market, I have a pretty expensive motor for sale--but about half the money that is in it. There is about 20 hours on it. 383 stroker with every imagineable trick and tune. Completely built. AND: originally built with super- or turbo-charging in mind, so compression is only in the 8's. As it sits now--NA--it puts out nearly 500. Need about $6000. steve

MSA Stainless Steel Brakes Hoses
No, I was wondering if you ordered by end size. if you ordered by application, it may or may not actually state the size on the package. I've never seen any Nissan stuff in Summit. Did you call them or something? steve

MSA Stainless Steel Brakes Hoses
>>>>lines from Summit Racing<<<< What size ends did you order? And did they fit on the stock bulkhead adaptors? steve

MSA Stainless Steel Brakes Hoses
>>>>and won't require adapters.<<<< The adaptors replace the adaptor that is already in there--you know the thing with the little notches that take the C-clips locking it to the strut tab and the hub tab? It is not an additional piece. It's just I have never figured out the size of the male flare side of the stock adaptor--or found a hose pre-made that fits on it. the last set I saw from MSA had new Earl's adaptors at each end too, but they may have worked that out to fit the Nissan pieces. The stock piece is not 3 or 4 AN. It is something weird. steve

MSA Stainless Steel Brakes Hoses
Are the MSA hoses still 12"F and 9"R? I inherited a set on a car and found them--as mentioned--a bit short and the PO had kinked a couple. The price at MSA is definitely the best. What is it, $65? That is a deal. I have been 'building my own sets' from Porterfield's catalogue and paying quite a bit more. I don't know the quality comparison to Earl's, but they seem pretty well put together. Teflon lined SS hoses by RXI or TXI or something like that. I get the 15" -4X-4 straight premade hoses for $11-something each and then you need two -4AN male to 10X1.0mmFIF adaptors for each corner at about $3 each, so do the math. With shipping and change I think it is in the $75+ range. Are the MSA ones -3 or -4 AN? steve
