280z bumpers
Or you could just get rid of them without adding a kit...gotta blend in the 'smiles' a bit...and then there are quite a few who think my car is "ugly" or "unfinished". hehe steve77

>>>>15" X 8.5", offset 1.375", backspace 3 3/8", The wheels fit the flares perfectly. As I show in the photos, the wheels extend 2" past the factory fender lip.<<<< I'm just putting this here so after the auction is gone, I can come back here and reference this info. steve77

Tyre-Tire Survey
The only problem is it only goes to 'Max Performance Summer'. They left out Tirerack's next step, 'Competition'. The softest tire I found in Max Perf was 220. steve77

Tell me about GT2
I've been hanging out with another Z racer at Willow Springs and it looks like SO MUCH FUN!!! That and we lost our autocross site here recently, so I have to go SOMEWHERE! Somewhere between my three Z's, I am going to find something to race with. Dennis' car looked like a bit of a headstart. I have everything it needs. steve77

Tell me about GT2
>>>>Aanand Varanasi '72 GT 240Z Vintage SCCA<<<< Oh! Aanand! Of course. I never even noticed your signature. We met and talked for a bit at Laguna Seca when several Datsun clubs came up (October?). Mine was the green one with white stripes. Beautiful car. Yes, I met Royce (finally) that afternoon as I was leaving. steve77

Tell me about GT2
Doc, two different cars! You are right and wrong. The "prepped for GT2" car I originally posted for it eventually NEVER even looked at. The guy (local) never called me back with a price or meeting time or stats or anything. That was in late November. Switch to today: Yes, the car in my avitar is Dennis'. It became available recently. I have no reason but to believe I am buying it next week. It, also, is a GT2 'tub-frame', a style I am guessing is legal in Vintage and 'loose' sanctioning bodies and grandfathered in in the stricter ones. This particular car is indeed not without a storied history of successful hillclimbs and road racing and perhaps even rally. Seems alot of it was back East? Watkins and the lot? What part is yours? steve77

clock
I was taking some groceries out of my 77 the other day and heard the unmistakable "thwick" of a quartz movement advancing. WHAT THE...? This clock hasn't worked in years! But by golly, there is went...I froze and held point for at least a munite and again picked up that wonderful sound. It has continued to work since. The hour hand is a bit off, but it keeps great time. Crazy! steve77 steve77

Header anyone?
OK, Daniel, sorry, your post totally makes sense now! You are RIGHT!!! Square header, round port gasket! Too funny. I didn't even notice the gasket laying there. Got a couple extra square header gaskets. Anyone need a round port gasket? And what is that pipe layng there? Is that part of the package? n That doesn't look like the 2-1 collector! steve77

Header anyone?
OK, I'm lost. I totally DO NOT understand Daniel's post. Yes, there was some iffy/vague advertising involved in the EBAY ad, but some of us could read through it and get what we wanted. Sometimes you gotta just look past the adjectives. It could easily have been purchased for a 75-76 and then everything is straight-on. I'm guessing the "fuel injected" part is what kept 5000 240 guys who saw it from snapping it up! steve77

Header anyone?
Keith, yoo-da-man! I owe you one. And now I have one brand new ceramic coated one and one brand new painted one in the shop. I have a MSA 6-1 sitting here in the box for my 73 project, but things have 'shifted' a bit and I really wanted a 6-2 to trade for the 6-1 or sell or install on the 73 and the 6-2 go on the NEW race car project (yes that would be TWO) because the 73 is registered and the _______ is NO WAY and I kinda wanted to put true twice pipes on the street-un-legal one and anyway...I'm rambling now....you get it........ Funny how things work out. What a effin bargain. steve77

15 or 16 X 10's
I'll search out a good deal eventually, just looking to this community for a head start. Where is the best place to get 15 or 16 X 9 or 10 wheels for a 114.3X4? I would even consider steel if they were under, oh say, 22 lbs. Anyone? steve77
