  1. Thanks for the response, guys. I haven't had my Z for too long, and I had just completed an oil change. When I saw the pressure drop so much while sitting at a light, I kind of freaked and thought I did something wrong. I'm glad to find out that it is normal.
  2. Is it normal for the stock oil pressure gauge to drop to 1/4 to 1/2 during idle, and then increase back up to 2/3 to 3/4 during normal driving? That's what mine is doing, and I was worried that I was losing too much oil pressure.
  3. Called the local dealership, and they do offer a copper washer. I don't think it's specific to the 240Z. Most likely a universal washer for all Nissans. I'll try this out, and if it seeps, I'll try the fiber ones like Beandip recommended. Thanks for the help.
  4. Hello This is a very basic, newbie question (I think): I have never done an oil change on a 240Z before, but have done plenty on Hondas. Hondas have an aluminum crush washer for the oil pan drain bolt. This is a one-time use washer that you replace each time you drain your oil. Do Datsun 240Z's have a similar washer that needs to be replaced? Thanks.

Hello Everybody! I'm a new member to this forum. I stumbled upon it while looking for information about Rust Bullet and Picklex, and it looks like I've found a gold mine of information on old Z cars. I am working on getting a 1973 Datsun 240Z back to running order. When I bought the car, the frame rails and floor pans were rusted out. I ordered some Zeddfindings floor pans and Baddog frame rails. The most recent development is that I removed the engine and transmission from the car, and am now ready to send the car in to get the pans and rails welded in. I am looking for a good shop that can do the welding work in the San Jose, CA area, so any recommendations would be great. Look forward to sharing tips and swapping stories on this board.
