Welcome to the site! Any pics?
  2. The bodies are exactly the same except for the bumpers and emblems. Of course, there is also a 2+2 version for the 260/280Z and 240Zs were 2-seaters only. But the bodies for the 2-seaters were the same from '70 to '78.
  3. I love my Konig Rewinds....although it was a bit of a struggle getting the caps over the hubs on the front wheels. Rubber mallet required....

  5. I guess Japanese cars get some respect afterall. An '06 350Z (turboed) went for $33K.
  6. Exactly! This is why I don't watch the Barrett Jackson auctions anymore. No respect for Japanese cars......and the endless stream of Mustangs, Corvettes, and Camaros. YAWN!!
  7. Although the Z31 and the S130 are often grouped together, I think the S130 is alot more popular with Z enthusiasts now because it has more similiarities to the original classic Z- the sugar scoop headlights, the in-line six engine, etc. plus it still had the Datsun name (OK, "Datsun by Nissan" to be exact). But the S130 and the S30 are night and day as far as the driving experience. In fact, my Z33 is ALOT more similiar in character and feel to the S30 than my S130 is.
  8. I wonder if they meant the Neon SRT-4, the high-performance turbo version. I don't see any reason why a regular Neon would be on there.
  9. Just a couple weeks ago, I drove my 280ZXT to work and this guy, 20 or so, asked if it was a Porsche. I said, no its a Datsun, and he just had this kinda puzzled look on his face. I agree with you about the motorcycles. Now about the only time I wave first is if its another sportbike. If its a cruiser I'll usually wait for them to wave first. Bikers are very cliquish.
  10. The odd thing is the vast majority of complements I get for the 240Z are from teenagers or younger. They may not know what it is, but they like it!
  11. I agree with Jan. It has alot to do with age. I did have a guy in a 350Z wave at me in my 240Z the other day.....but this is rare. I think the majority of 350Z owners have no idea of the heritage of their car. Of course the whole Datsun/Nissan thing throws them off too.:stupid:

Welcome to the site. Very nice ZXT!!
  13. ^^^Very cool! Well, who said you can't get 3 cars (& a bike) in a 2-car garage? (Good thing I don't collect Cadillacs....)

I have carbon fiber bumpers I bought for my 240Z from MSA. Seem very good quality. I haven't put the front one on yet and don't plan on putting the rear one on because I like the bumperless look. If you're interested I could sell you the rear bumper....its in like-new condition (still wrapped in the plastic). You can have it for cheap....just want to make room in my garage. PM me if interested.
  15. Sports cars generally have just 2 seats (or a small back seat in a 2+2 version), definitely just 2 doors, are generally small with sports car styling, and designed first and foremost for driving entertainment. Performance alone doesn't make a sports car. The Mitsubishi Evo, Subaru WRX Sti, Dodge SRT-4 all have good performance but are not sports cars IMO, they're sport sedans. True sports cars also have RWD which would eliminate the Mitsubishi Eclipse. Except for the Z4, I wouldn't consider any BMW a sports car, they're sports sedans. Here are the modern cars I would consider a sports car: 370Z, Corvette, Viper, Miata, Honda S2000, Porsche 911, Boxster or Cayman, GT-R, Pontiac Solstice, Saturn Sky, and the Italian exotics of course. I'm debating whether the RX-8 should be included since it technically has 4 doors.
  16. I think the only Zs that qualify are the Z32s. I can't imagine the non-turbo Z32 averaging less than 18mpg, so maybe just the twin turbo Z32s qualify. Hopefully, there aren't any idiots that would trade these in for scrap....

I say go for it. I paid $900 to have mine shipped here, and have never regretted it...
  18. I see your point. Unfortunately Z32s do qualify I believe. Interesting link BTW. I've never seen that before...
  19. I didn't think S30s would qualify anyway because the avg. gas mileage is better than 18 mpg?
  20. Those are the same wheel/tire combination I got for my Z. Regarding the center caps, the rear ones fit fine, but in order to get the front ones on, I had to pry the caps off the hubs, otherwise the hub is too long, and the center cap won't snap all the way on. Even with the caps off the hub, you'll probably need a rubber mallet to get them all the way on.

I did a search and they didn't have a clock with a red one, but they did have this cool glow-in-the-dark 240Z clock I'm thinking about buying.

Very nice. Wonder if they have one with a red Z....
