my 11/75 - 1976 280z is all original and I have the ones in your images 1 and 2. I have never replaced my blades or the wiper carrier.

Hay all thanks for the info. I did take it apart a little to see what was inside. If the switch in the left turn position and I check the pins number 10 and 14 in the 3 pin terminal, I should get a completed circuit that I can check with a multi meter. This should tell me if the switch is closing, right? Mike

Hi all, a problem came up the other day (the left turn signal quit working) and I'm not that up on electronics in the car. The car is 1976 280Z (11/75), all original has had no modifications to electrical at all. 53K miles on the car. What I know so far. 1. The blinkers hazards (4 way's work). Even the left side. 2. New bulbs as of this year. 3. Right turn side works and at the correct blinking speed. 4. I did take out the turn signal switch out and it looks and seems ok, no wear or burning. 5. I do have a service manual and tried to see what it could be (not much experience in reading electrical), it looks like there are two flasher units, one for the 4 ways and one for the turn signals. Question, could only one side of the turn signal flasher go bad? Thanks, I know this has probably been discussed before, I'm hoping its a real simple fix. Mike

I had a vibration in my 1976 car after I hit a pot hole and blew the tire the fall of 76. I chased it for at least 2 years and the dealer said it was a bent front axle, so they replaces the whole strut and I still had it for at least 10 more years. I finally checked the hub that had the baring outer race and it was spinning in the hub. I replaced the hub and most of it want a way, finally moved the aluminum wheel (original Appliance) from the front to the back (the wheel did have a small amount of movement from the pot hole on the outer rim) and purchased new 205 70 14 tires and all gone now except at about 70 mph. I don't drive that fast too often so I'm good. Good luck with you hunt.

I have a small white cotton towel I use, I fold it up to fit between the e-brake and the shifter over the ash tray. I lay my phone on it and it stays put. I use my phone for direction to car shows and for my music to sink with my FM blue tooth receiver. I don't drive real hard or crazy.

Hi all I'm looking for information about all the years, car designation for all the years of the Z car in NORTH AMERICA only, I know there are different designation for right hand drives and the 2+2 cars, not really looking for those. This is what I have so far: 240 - 260 - 280 = S30 for years 1970 to 1978 280 ZX = S130 for years 1979 to 1983 300 ZX = Z31 for years 1984 to 1989 300 ZX = Z32 for years 1990 to 1996 350 Z = Z33 for years 2002 to 2008 - This could be wrong years 370 Z = Z34 for years 2009 to 2021 400 Z = Z35 for years 2022 to ? I know there are going to be those of you that will want to add in all the different designations for the rest of the world, that will be appreciated and taken in to consideration. I see what your saying, also the numbers are not lined up, straight across the bottom like an original is. I'm sure datsun workers would have used a stamp set that held all the numbers at once and was struck once to get a clean look.

Could the L24 have been stamped at a different time and place other than where the second block of numbers, were stamped when the finished motor was being installed, they might have had a different set of numbers.

My carpet in my 11/75 1976 280 is loop and I'm the original owner, mine is black.

Just so you know the original carpet kit in the car was loop pile carpet, the most you find are cut pile carpet. If going for originality get the loop pile, I still have the original carpet in mine except the deck area and I did not know when I got my replacement, still looking to the loop pile, very hard to find.

Hay, Roberts280z I am an original owner of a 1976 280Z. my car as of now is in the garage under a cover waiting for the weather to turn nice here in Pittsburgh. I did take it to the ZCCZ event that was in Cleveland in 2008 and did happen to meet a few of the gents on the forum. My car has 52K original miles, I mostly take the car to the different car curses around the Burg during the summer.

I have on my original Appliance 14 inch wheels that I purchased with the car in 1976 the BGGoodrich Radial TA in 205 - 14 - 70. I don't autocross or drive the car hard and they look period correct for the car.

My car 11/75 - is a 76 model year as well has a diagonal Datsun emblem. I am the original owner and still have the car.

The a in the circle by the word max stands for appliance, the center caps should have that a in the midde, very hard to find centers.

The wheels are 14 inch with 205 - 70 tires, Appliance is the brand I purchased them when I bought the car in 1976. Cost me $75 then. Don't know off set. Thanks.

Wishing my 1976 - 11/75 a happy 45th birthday, don't know what actual day it was born. I ordered it in December of 75 and picked it up in early March of 1976. Putting it away for the winter, it didn't get much drive time this year, all the car shows were canceled. Hopefully they will be back next year.

Chas, I'm the original owner of 11/75 made 1976 280z and mine did not have a fan shroud, I did not get the AC. So I think the shroud came with the AC package.

I have the same on my 11/75 made 1976 280, they probably came from a later 260 and you have an early 260.

I go to a lot of car shows here in Pittsburgh on the weekends, I am usually the only Z of any kind and most times the only foreign car. On Saturday I attended a show held by the local aeronautics school at the county airport. The control tower is the main building and is't an art deco design so I photographed the car in front of it. Hope you like,

siteunseen, that photo you are talking about was taken at least 6 years ago. It was in the center of what is PPG office buildings, it was a car show on a Wednesday that is held in conjunction with the Pittsburgh grand prix that is held here every July. They have different location's throught the city to park cars. It's a great time to show off cars at different areas in the city and to people that would not normally go to car show.

First car show of the year for me. 55 degrees sunny and windy but a nice day with over 400 cars on the main street of the little town of Irwin just east of Pittsburgh. I was the only Z car of the bunch. I usually am, not many of the early Z around the Pittsburgh area. I did talk to a couple of gents that owned Z's but did not bring them, they both said there cars were not worthy to show at the time.

just a heads up the front side marker lights are on wrong. The need to be rotated 180 degrees. Sorry, i'm just picky about correctness.

The 1975 - 2+2 was at the Pittsburgh Grand Prix last summer in July. It was in great shape, was purchased just prior to the July car show from the original owner who was from around Oil city that is north east of Pittsburgh. The car had around 19K miles at that time. I also saw the car listed on Bring a Trailer for around 19K last November or December if I remember right. I think it sold on BAT for around 19 to 20K. When I the car was here in Pittsburgh the engine bay was very rough with a lot of Zebart undercoating all over it.

on my 76 - 280 the drivers door handle broke just like yours and I moved it over to the passengers side and the the passengers side to the drivers side. Took about 2 hrs. to do, hardest part was putting the nuts back on. Good luck.
