Yes it is bent. Here is a picture of mine installed.
  3. Here are a couple of places I found that might have stems. Item VW8 - http://xtreempolish.com/Bolt-OnValveStems.html Item WV-8 - 45 Might be same as above. http://www.instanttoolsusa.com/bolt-in.html Item 2945 Again might be the same http://www.prestigewheel.com/cgi-bin/commerce.exe?preadd=action&key=2945
  4. Here is a picture of the ones I had the dealer install on my car back in 1976. They are made out of a pot metal of some sort and were originally painted black. Both the housing and mirror moves. They are same ones that the Black Pearls had on them. http://photographictrends.com/zcar/closeup/07.07.07 - 008.htm

You can see it on my car in my web site. Lots of pictures. I will tell you one thing about this color code 302, I have not seen any places that have in their codes. I would like to get some spray cans of it and I have not seen any. I think I can get some custom cans mixed if I take a piece of the car that is painted to some one to scan it. My car is the original color you are looking for. I think it's a great color and it seems a very rear original color.

My car was rust proofed by the dealer with Ziebart in 1976. I used WD40 to soften the stuff and wipe it away in my engine bay area. I would spray it on and leave it set for 15 or 20 minutes and then sometimes I had to use fine steel wool to rub it off. The area in the picture was covered with Ziebart spray before I cleaned it.

Good looking car, I like the color. Looks like it has a 77 hood, the front bumper has been pushed in on the drivers side, you might have to get a new shock for the bumper. Search on the forum for the carpet, lots of places that sell it. Good luck and have fun fixing it.
  8. Mustache bar is the bar that holds the back of the rear end in place. See picture. The S30 is part of the Vin number and states that the Z car is of the first generation style verses a S31 for the ZX's.

I don't know if this will help, here are a couple of pictures of my 76 stock exhaust.
  10. The spread sheet from Mike Z car is wrong for the 280Z's, My car has the wrong Vin. it has a GHLS30 number. My Vin is listed on wal280z's car.

That sticker I don't have a full image of but it says something about caution, full radiator with ?, don't unscrew the? I could get a better picture of it in the next couple weeks when I go to work in the car.

There is only one that is on my car, it's a 1976 280.
  13. Even the 280's are mixed up. It seems that someone is sorting on a single column for some reason. My vin was on both Stealth-Z and rockr69's cars. Now fixed.
  14. Thank you very much for the hard work and the 280-Z shade, I can now replace my old one that had way too many dust specks that has been on for at least 33 years and I was always embarrassed about the specks. You did a great job.

For my car (1976 - 280) it's fully stock with period correct accessories that I placed on the car in the late 70's and early 80's. Summer of 1977 - Added rear window louvers and sun shield with 280-Z on it. Spring of 1983 - Replaced both front finders with stock finders and added rear spoiler, added front air dam and painted complete car to the original 302 Metallic Green. Keeping the car the original color was important to me, it now seems like it is a rear color because I have never seen another one in person. I am now in process of stripping and repainting the rear suspension and cad plating the bolts and nuts to look like it did when it was new. I want my car to be clean and look like a period correct modified example of the late 70's.

I read some where that you have to tune the radio to the antanna. There is a screw in the back.
  17. Here it is on my 76 - 280, looks like a different hose.

MVander 1971 HLS30-17821 L24- original 04-71 A. Bjeres 1971 HLS30-18490 L24 #P30-19041 04-71 these dates and HLS30 # are from the spread sheet attached. http://www.editgrid.com/user/mlwilliams/Z_Car_Registry there are some strange HLS30 numbers on the sheet for that time period, could be a lot of mistakes.

I don't know if this will help, it's mine from a stock never changed non Cali 1976 - 280Z car.
  21. Here is the spread sheet. http://www.editgrid.com/user/mlwilliams/Z_Car_Registry
  22. Here is mine it's a 280Z and how they look with two different tire sets. Goodyear - 205-60-14 front and 215-60-14 back http://photographictrends.com/zcar/outside/06.30.07%20-%20004%20-%20working.htm Goodrich - 205-70-14 on front and back. http://photographictrends.com/zcar/Special/finished%28ii%29.htm I did the 70 series in 205 because they are 1/2 inch taller than stock and fill the wheel well better and I also wanted front and back the same size because the backs will wear faster and I can now rotate them front to back. I also like the raised white letters, they seem to fit with the era of the car. The wheels are appliance and I purchased them when I got them when I purchased the car new in 1976. I drive mine only on the weekends for fun and don't do any type of racing. I do show the car at a couple of shows each year.
  23. From Answer.com. How thick is 20 mil? In: Length and Distance [Edit categories] Dakota Ultrasonics Ultrasonic Thickness gauges, Flaw Detectors, and Bolting equipment www.dakotaultrasonics.com According to Answers.com, a mil is: "A unit of length equal to one thousandth (10-3) of an inch (0.0254 millimeter), used, for example, to specify the diameter of wire or the thickness of materials sold in sheets." So; 20 mil = 20 thousandths of an inch = 0.020 inches Or; 20 x 0.0254 millimeters = 0.508 millimeters = 0.05 cm But... According to another source there is more to the story: "All papers are measured in two ways. One is referred to as the paper weight, the other is the actual thickness of the paper. Paper weight is generally measured in 'grams per square meter' (gsm). Paper thickness is measured in 'mils' which is short for thousandths of an inch. Paper weight and paper thickness often go hand in hand, BUT because some papers are denser than others they may be heavier than a similar thickness paper. For example, two manufacturers may list a weight of 300gsm, but the papers may have a different thickness because they have different densities. Paper thickness is generally listed as 10mil or 15.5mil and this is equivalent to .010 inches or .0155 inches respectively. To give this some perspective, a human hair is only 2 mils. This is measured with a digital micrometer." I would say that the letters are very thin. Hope this helps?

Mezzz, it looks to be about 21 degrees for the slope of the window. I uses a side view of a car in Photoshop and places a slanted line in the back and it came to 21.3 degrees. Not real accurate but close. The one you are looking at goes from 20 to 36 degrees.
