Here is my serial number for a 11/76 - 280Z. The number does not look stamped or engraved on, it look like it was cast in place.
  3. I can send a check if that works best, I will change to Datsun from 280-Z, I would rather have 280-Z, I stated I would take 2 if that helped.
  4. I have some for emissions. The are in the location the dealer or factory put them on. Car 11/75 build for a 1976 - 280Z with a 4 speed.

Here is the one that was on mine 11/75 build for 1976.
  12. Over the weekend the Pittsburgh vintage grand prix races were held along with a large (2000) car show. All makes of foreign and domestics. Each foreign car groups were in different locations all over the Shenley Golf course. The had a section for all the Japanese cars, most of the cars were the Mazda Miata and their club, had about 40 cars. The Nissan (Datsun) were represented by 9 cars. There were 1-1600, 1-2000, 2-240, 2-280, 1-280zx, 1-300 and 1-350. We all had a great time talking and showing off our cars. Here are a couple of pictures. This is the most Z in one car show that I have ever seen in Pittsburgh. There are a couple of images of the other car areas. The last image is my car parked under the USX building in downtown Pittsburgh, this happened in conjunction with the weekend races the Wednesday before. CVars were parked in 3 different location in downtown.

It looked like he was looking in the car with the door open and it knocked him down, is he ok.
  14. Back in the early 80's I cut 3 coils out of each spring and then replaced the oil with 30 w motor cycle strut oil. The car cornered like a champ but was a very rough ride. I also bottomed out on all the little speed bumps. I switched every thing back about 10 years ago when I really wanted to drive the car for fun and not auto crossing.
  15. This past Sunday I participated in a local car show and to my amazement there were a total of 3 Z's in the show. Out of a total of about 350 cars there was mine a 76-280, and two others. One was a 73 and one was a 2004 - 350. I have attached the pictures. The orange one is the first S30 that I have seen around the Burg in about 5 years. There were a total of 20 foreign cars in the show mostly MG and Triumphs. The white 350 had something like 200 mods to it and the lady that owned the car drove from state college just to be in the show. She was kind of upset that she was put in the super modified category and not the foreign car category. The guy that owned the orange one lived just blocks from the car show, I talked to him before lunch but he never came back before I left (started to rain). He did say he has owned the car since the late 70's and had another in his garage in pieces.
  16. motorman7, don't forget the nuts and washers on the top of the struts, they will look out of place with everything else plated like new if not done.
  17. Sometimes the wheel can be out of round and not caught by the tire balancing. I had this problem with a front wheel for 31 years, always had a shimmy at around 45 to 50 and would go away after that. I kept the wheel and moved it to the back from the front and the shimmy when away.
