  1. There was and annual car show held this weekend by the South Hills Camber of commerce here in Pittsburgh. It was a beautiful day with approx. 400 cars. Of all the cars there were only 11 foreign cars and only one Japanese car, mine. As I have said before there are not a lot of Z in the Pittsburgh area. A lot of people came up to me and said who much they liked the Z and remember it from the past, one lady ask me to start it because she remembered the Z fondly (her words) and how it sounded. I started the car and she just started to giggle said thanks and walked away.
  2. The car looks great and I like the color, not too many green ones around.

Welcome to the group, glad to see another 280. Here in Pittsburgh I have not seen a Z all summer.
  4. I just (3 weeks ago) put BFGoodrigh TA's on mine in 205 / 70 / 14's. They look good and drive fine.
  5. Thanks Fun_in_ma_z, I think they look good too. ta240, I don't drive my car that much but cleaning them I just wash them with car soap and spray clean, the little holes are painted black so they don't show that much dust. As for polishing them, I used one of those Mothers polish balls with mothers aluminum cleaner. You have to do that only once to get all the heavy oxidation off and then just buff clean with the polish about once a month. Here in Pittsburgh we have a higher level of sulfer in the air than most places and aluminum oxidizes with sulfer.
  6. Here are the original wheels I got with my car in 1976. They are Appliance wheels with new Eagle Alloy centers and new nuts I purchased from a place in OK. by the name of Massey Motors.
  7. You could also have an out of round front wheel, it might not be picked up when the tires were balanced. I had an out of round aluminum wheel on the front for 30 years, my cars steering wheel shook from 40 mph and up. I had new tires put on 3 weeks ago and they put the right front (the bad one) on the back and it stopped shaking at all speeds.
  8. Hi all, let see your car pictures before you put them away for the winter. Here is a shot of mine from last weekend. made 11/75 for a 1976 - 280Z Listing the year of the car would be nice too. Thanks.
  9. Found this old thread, I live in South Park, south of Pittsburgh. Would be nice to see some people with Z's cruse around SP on saturday's.
  10. South Hills of Pittsburgh, Pa...same here not many Z's here.
  11. Chris, maybe you don't have such a cool car to them? It looks great from the Avatar. What part of PA are in, I in the south hill of Pgh.
  12. Kyle, good to see another 76 - 280z to join. I don't have any answers your questions but I am also interested in the mileage. I am also getting around 15 mpg. My car has always been low in gas mileage from day one and I am the original owner.
  13. Welcome, always nice to see another 76 - 280 on the site. You got a very nice car. I have the same rear spoiler and very similar front air dam on mine. Have fun with the car.
  14. Looks great I always liked the green, mine is 302 green and it looks like your 113 metalic green.
  15. Matt, I saw your thread about paint color, my car is not the color green your mentioned but 302 metalic green. I have attached a picture. From the color charts they look very close in color and is pretty metalic in color. Michael
  16. Xray, it does look like 113 and 302 metalic green, I copied the two pictures from zhome web site and compaired them side by side, but they could be totally different.
  17. I called them and they don't have 302 (leaf Green Met.) If there is any one out there that knows of other places please list them.
  18. To tell you the truth I don't know I put it on about 30 years ago along with the rear spoiler. I know the front air dam is a heavy rubber material and bolts on very easily.
  19. Welcome to the site and I am glad to see more 76-280 people joining. I really enjoy my 76, I fiddle with it almost every weekend, mine is a week end car and for fun. good luck.
  20. Welcome to the site, Your car is the same color as my 76, not too many that color. It looks like somebody changed the hood, mine does not have the louvers. Good luck with all the work. Michael
  21. For me being in the rust belt it's having something that is very rear. I love the looks and the questions like what is that? Michael

Arne, the ones in your picture look like Appliance to me. I have the same ones if they are appliance. If you don't mind telling me where you got the center caps. Mine are rusted. thanks Mike
  23. I am a professional photographer and I have the 20D, I also have the 5D because I wanted the the larger sensor. If I were to replace my 20D I would get the 30D. It is newer technology and the larger lcd on the back is great. I would get the 17 - 85 IS lens. I have that one and it never comes off the 20D I have. Michael
  24. 54 in Pittsburgh, PA
  25. I got mine for $7500 in Pittsburgh in February 1976, I am the original owner. Modifications are: Rear window louvers in 1978 - about $100 Front air dam installed in 1978 - about $150 Rear spoiler installed in 1979 - about $150 New front stock finders and painted in 1979-80 the original color 302 green - about $1000 New covers and foam for seats in 2005 - about $150 Rear deck carpet in 2005 - about $ 75 Everything else is stock and are original parts. The car has 49K miles I use about on all the prices because I am not really sure of the prices. I did do some minor cosmetic changes in paint color to the grill and back tail light panel area, they are painted a gold color, think it compliments the green very well. Michael
