The 6 bolt and plastic washers go with the bracket you listed in another thread. They are for the headlight covers. Did you get the covers?

It is a bracket that is used to attach the clear headlight covers. Those little allen wrench bolts you have are for the brackets. the brackets attach to the painted area on the headlight bucket with double faced tape.
  3. My 11/75 - 1976 280 has the ones in the add.
  4. Welcome to the green car club. Great looking car and a good color and the black interior works well. Mine is very close at 302 Green Leaf Metallic.

I saw this one at a local car show last weekend, it is for sale by the brother of the bar where the car show was. The brother sell lots of old sports cars. I have no affiliation to the car or the owner. The car looks to have been repainted for the sail. The car was just washed, that's the reason for the water spots. The paint job was not the best and could be hiding some rust areas. Looks like a 3/78 production date and has around 125K miles. The chrome is not bad not great. Interior look better then the average and seemed original. Z cars do come up for sale here too often, so if any one would like me to get some more info and pictures let me know.
  6. Siteunseen, Know idea what the paint is, it was painted 33 years ago, base then clear. Thanks.
  7. This past Wednesday the Pittsburgh Vintage Grand Prix sponsors had a parade through the city with cars stopping at different locations for a show. If you know Pittsburgh the spots were USX tower, PPG Place, Market Square (where I went) and Point State park. This years mark is Mustang so there were a lot of them in the parade. The main event for Grand Prix is this weekend with cars of all kinds from all over the east showing up. We usually get 6 to 7 S30's and as many as 15 total Z's in the Asia area. Here is a picture on mine at market Sq. Here is a Picture from last year at PPG Place. Hope you all like.
  8. Not really a sticker but a stamp on the Right Side Seat Mechanism Cover for a 11/75-76 280z. Looks like the 50.11.01 could be a date.
  9. The little holes for the screws on my cover all (3) broke out. Here is what I did. The cover are very hard to find and not cheep if you do. I drilled very small holes by hand with a drill bit and uses some SS wire to make the new attachment places. The little screws are hidden under a plastic cover and you can not see much of the wire, I also used a marker to make the wire black.
  10. Euro, the mirror seem set ok and does have some adjustment up and down and in and out like before.and stays in place, will see over time. Captain, Your thread is the one I had seen and referred to, but could not find. I knew the ball came from your pictures but was concerned about the paint and how to pull it out.
  11. I am not sure if any one has done this or not. My passenger side mirror housing came off the little post ball in side of the mirror because the hole must have over time enlarged. These are the original mirrors I purchased with the car back in 76. Here is what I did to remedy the situation. I am working on the driver side because I did not have my camera for the passengers side. I pushed the housing back on over the ball. I found a 1 1/6" washer on the thinner side and hammered it concave and sawed a slot the width of the hole to fit over the post in the mirror. You want to try to use a washer on the harder side but thin. Next I slipped the washer over the post with the concave side towards the front of the car. In the picture I have the slot on the bottom, I realized that it would slip out on top so in the end the slot is on the top. The washer will not slip out with the slot on top because it sets on the housing on the bottom. The spring metal piece pushing against the ball I had to reverse so the bolts would be low enough to allow the mirror to be completely pressed in far enough to allow the underneath bolts to be inserted when bolting the mirror back on. The finished assembly. I hope this helps someone.

I think this is what you are asking for. The are plastic rivets with push pins in the middle. Get them from MSA.
  13. Mike, Attached is a picture of the cover that controls the seat back mechanism. It is black plastic. I need one for 11/75 - 76 -280Z. It is different than 77 but could be same as 240 type II seats. I need one for the passenger side. If any one knows where I can get one let me know. Thanks.
  14. This past Saturday I went to a local car show at a Pep Boys parts store, they were holding a grand opening for their speed shop and had a dyno available to rent, it was $45 to have your car dynoed. I had my stock 37 year old engine done. I was after a diesel truck that pulled over 1900 in torque. There was lots of interest in my car after the truck. My numbers were for 4th gear - 111.30 power and 127.85 torque. First run For 3 gear - 118.27 power and 130.47 torque. Second run My car is stock and is listed at 170 HP - 5600 rpm (SAE) The guy driving said he took the engine up to 6k on the tack, the first run there was a puff of black smoke, he said that was probably carbon. In the last picture you can see white smoke, not sure what that is, the car does not burn oil. I don't know if this is bad or good for the age. The car show was also judged with trophies and there was a foreign car category, so I entered. I received second place out of about 25 foreign cars. I was not happy with the winner because it was a 6 week old Nissan 2013 - GTR. Really tough to compete with a new car when you have a 37 year old car. Any info on the dyno numbers would be appreciated.

ggunder, I had the same problem, as me car got hotter the car was harder and harder to put into reverse. The master finally failed, did not leak but the O rings inside failed. The fluid was black in the master and would not pump the fluid. I replaced both the master and slave and all is fine.
  17. Mike the shock tower covers on a 11/75 - 76 - 280 cover the seat belt take up real for the shoulder strap. I am not sure how early they started or if they go to the 77 - 78 model.
  18. Last Saturday late afternoon (5/25) in conjunction with the new Fast and Furious movie the local exotic car club called Cars 'N' Coffee had a car show. They had a street shut down for 3 hours to show their cars. I was invited to include mine. Lots of Lambos and Ferari's and Lotus's and others. I had the oldest car there, most of the exotics were only a couple of years old. They split the cars up, one side was all European and the other was American and Asian. Here are a couple of pictures of my car with the others in the for ground. It seemed like most of the people that owned the exotics were on the younger side compared to most of the car shows I go to.
